Not going to debate it with him. He stated that it is his opinion and that's fine. I think we can all agree that turn signal indicators on the hood of a car are more gimmicky than a HUD could be considered.

You are free to your opinion. However, GM, military applications, and MOST people who do/have owned it would say otherwise. So you are in the rare minority.

The integrated turn signals are nothing but a nestalgic nod. Which, while I think its kinda cool, it is not justifiable in any sense of "function", unlike the HUD.

Is it confirmed that the gen6 will have Hud? I hope so. I liked it on my old 93 SSEI, but haven't had a car with it in 15 years.

Not confirmed but it's pretty much a given.

Girls like hood mounted turn indicators. Pretty... but useless

Men like HUD. Allows you to keep your eyes on the road while being informed. Purposeful

What difference does it make if they put turn signals on the hood. From what I've see almost nobody bothers to use them anymore anyway.

Haha, exactly. To me, that is gimmicky. HUD, not so much. I'd prefer HUD than no HUD. My last 3 cars have had it. But, if my next one doesn't, I won't really care so. But, to me, it's nice to have.

Well, back in the day (think 70s cadillacs) they would use a primitive fiber optic strand to extend light from the actual blinker or headlight housing to a small fender pod in order to show you that your bulbs were actually working. This was a real-time indication of a fault, so in theory you would always know your lights were really working, not just assume they were because the switches were on. I doubt the new Mustang thingies rely on passive optics like this, but maybe..

Most cars's BCM have a bulb out features now to take the place of that. It was a cool idea at the time. This one the Mustang is getting is an actual separate LED. Apparently it was a requested item, so hey they are giving their fans what they want, but still a gimmick.
