From a buyer point of view than yes. Why drop money on a 2015 when the newer model will be different? Hold your money and see if you like the 16s, if not the 15 will be cheaper.

Yuo are right. The person in the market for a Camaro will most likely not buy a Mustang or Challenger, but the person in the market for a performance car might. Brand loyalty is great, and I am GM through and through, but we are the minority.

This is cyclical though, it all evens out. There's absolutely no way a manufacturer can release a car at the "perfect" time.

Americans are absolutely the WORST when it comes to brand loyalty. Most people couldn't tell you the difference between a Camaro, a Mustang, and a Charger.

I keep reading about people wanting a better interior. While I understand this, I want more power from the factory. I will sit on a wooden bench as long as the SS has at least 465 stock...and a serious weight loss plan. And please don't restyle the new SS in the direction the Mustang went...super euro modern 2 door fusion style. I assume some people are tired of retro styling but not this guy. The new Mustang is why I bought a SS, I hate it so much it ended a 11 Mustang GT streak for me.

I for one, am dying to see this thing in all its glory. I am sure anyone that turns towards a Mustang or Challenger was ready to get an American Muscle car sooner rather than later. The real Camaro fans will wait it out...and some of us are waiting for the 2017...50th Anniversary model...dang that is a long wait!!!! Hang tight my friend; when they release it, it will all be worth it!
Well said!

How on God's beautiful green Earth could anyone think GM is shooting themselves?

A plan was put in motion around 3 years ago to develop, engineer, manufacture and sell a 6th generation Camaro.

Somehow, now, with many months to go (likely 8 to 10 more) in that plan somebody thinks GM is harming themselves by not showing us the car?

Please, please don't let your excitement turn in to GM bashing. It's completely not called for.

There is a plan, has been for a very long time now and we have to let GM run it. Not a time to post a thread trying to be negative about GM.

Or do you think someone is reading your post and going, "Oh my God!!!!! A guy on Camaro5.com thinks we're shooting ourselves. Maybe he's right? Get a press release out NOWWWWW". They aren't.

I work for a company that's releasing a brand new model of a popular car for 2016 model year...they are not close to revealing it...this is normal business practice.

Yikes! That's the worse looking out the 3 muscle cars today! Ppl will buy anything though these days.

Otherwise I don't think Camaro will hold off Mustang volumes anymore. It will be like it always was in the 80-90's... Mustangs will outsell Camaro.

it's very hard to get volume back after you lose it.
Yup!

The interior is blah to you but to me it's the best as far as design! Mustang is nice in material but not design and the challenger is more better design than the mustang to me because it's different than anything else on the market! Give me unique or different interior over material any day. Because I can add color to it.

I've heard that advice before. I ordered my '97 Wrangler as soon as Chrysler would accept an order on the new TJs back in May of '96. 145,000 miles later it is by far the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. Almost 20 years later automotive technology and build quality have improved tremendously. My prediction is that the first year 6th gens will be very good cars.

I would have no reservations about buying the first one off the line, although it will probably be sold to Rick Hendrick at Barrett Jackson.
