We waited uphill, both ways, in the snow, for the launch of the 5th gen. That was a drawn-out launch if I ever saw one.

This is nothing!

the more time they spend the better in my opinion, if they are hurrying the process it will just mean more pain for the first year owners who have to deal with potential recalls and problems

And you had no options during that wait!

People waited 6 years for the 5th gen to be unveiled and another 3 after that to actually be able to buy it. They'll be fine.

Yes we all want it now but expect to see it around June-July. Any sooner will just be a bonus. With any luck it will be on sale end of year or early next year which doesn't seem to far off when you consider the last gen mustang had a year before the Camaro went on sale and stole it's lunch money.

fact is... people that have the itch to buy a car now are choosing more Mustangs and Challengers. The new Mustang was released at Detroit auto show and the old gen Mustang sold very well last year. I think the same would happen now if they revealed the new Camaro. And there are lots of Camaros on lots... and it's warming up weather wise. now is the time!!!

Otherwise I don't think Camaro will hold off Mustang volumes anymore. It will be like it always was in the 80-90's... Mustangs will outsell Camaro.

it's very hard to get volume back after you lose it.

wuttt?

Come on guy, the taypayers paid for the bailout.

The goal of Treasury's investment in GM was never to make a profit, but to help save the American auto industry, and by any measure that effort was successful. And by that they mean the taxpayers investment because GM was "Too Big" to fail

LOL. I don't understand how not revealing the redesign too soon is akin to GM shooting themselves in the foot. People that want to buy the latest, greatest shiny new toys are going to buy no matter what.

Why would revealing the Camaro of the future keep people from buying a Challenger? That body style has been around longer than the 5th gen Camaro. The only changes are the scat pack and the hellcat.

They have some big shoes to fill. How does one top what is the masterpiece 5th Gen ?
Me, too much into my 2010 (first year) to get rid of it. Stock, maybe but not how she sits now.

The second they reveal is the second people stop buying the 5th gen, people will just hold their wallets for the 6th release.

I don't think they are at all. A person in the market for Camaro isn't going to buy a Mustang or Challenger. Hopefully Chevrolet maintains the good looks that the Gen 5s have and don't uglify it as Ford did the Mustangs with the ugly large Mazda looking lower grill .If you are a Chevy guy you will wait.

The 5th Gen is by no means a masterpiece. From the exterior it looks bad ass, sure. The mechanicals of the car are decent, but it's WAY to heavy. In addition, the interior is just blaaaahhh.

It's going to get a smaller, lighter platform with less weight and a much better interior.

I love model change over time. Smoking good deals can be had on the old, and the excitement of the new.

When the 4th gen Corvette was on it's last few months, I bought an '04 Z06 brand new for $12,500 off sticker. 40K for a brand new Z06. Incredible performance. Sold it 2 years later for 38K. Probably will be tough to ever drive a Z06 for 2 years and 2K again, model change over made it possible.

The wheels in my head are turning... waiting to see how good the deals get on a ZL1 or Z28 or 1LE.... later this year. We've already seen 20% off, how good will it get? I'll get a 6th gen too some day when the time is right.

Patience and faith.
