Maybe it was done for 3 reasons. 1. make the car more refined, quite, respectable more a grand tourer car. 2. sell more SVT exhaust product easy upgrade in sound and power for those who want it (in truth a small number of the over all buyers). 3. easy gains for them to show on a special model in 2-3 years (not sure what the gt350 is getting heard rumors of the 5.8 or maybe just 5.0 opened up and returned or maybe 5.0 opened up and bosted???). Just spitballing please don't lambast me if I am wrong or misinformed but please do correct me if I am.

I believe the reasons given for a LS motor making more HP in the vette vs Camaro was something about packaging. The LS2 in question was the same advertised HP in the Vette, CTS-v and GTO, but lower advertised HP in the Trailblazer SS and SSR. But it was never a large difference in power. |
