Koenigsegg uses engines based on the Ford Modular V8 architecture which dates back to 1991. Koenigsegg valve covers will bolt right on to a GT500 engine.

Every SVT GT500/ SVT Cobra has driven off the same assembly line as all the other cars on the line. They have never been outfitted with aftermarket parts or sent to another facility. They are no different then the ZL1 is to the SS except Ford puts hand built forged engines from America under the hood.

It's cool man.

That's just why I posted, "Whut" for.

I thought it was understood that all SVT/GT500 models are 100% factory Fords.

This^

Except for the Mexican engine, as far as I know the engines are built in Canada at the windsor plant still

Didn't think they were 100% factory ford. Around here they have to be an authorized Shelby or svt dealer or they won't touch them. And there used to be a difference between an svt authorized dealer and a Shelby authorized dealer. Used to have to drive two hours to have service done on a lightning because the regular ford dealer wouldn't touch it and the Shelby authorized dealer said the same had to drive to svt authorized dealer. Were as I bought the camaro cause it could be serviced at any Chevrolet dealer

Wait the car at the top of the list at the ring is the radical sr8lm from what I read about those they are purpose built race cars that can be converted for street use in some countries. In some countries u can convert and drive an Indy car or a riding lawn mower for street use.

Makes you wonder where this dealership would make you go if you rolled up for service in one of those Harley Davidson F150's with the factory supercharger.... Harley davidson?

I havent heard of a Ford dealership refusing to work on a SVT/Shelby product in the past 10 years. Sure back in the late 90's there were such stories but now days I see new SVT/ Shelby cars for sale at little hole in the wall dealerships like this on in Half Moon Bay. It's not that Special of a Vehicle to work on...

I believe Ford ended their SVT dealership sometime between 04 and 07. I know a lot of SVT dealerships were kind of bummed when every dealer and their dad were offered Shelby allocations.

Hopefully they figured something more efficient out because that was bull***t buying a truck from a dealer then finding out the dealer we got it from wouldn't touch it. That and only most gt500s roll off the mustang line without being shipped else where the gt500kr still got shipped out for final assembly at Shelby america

Lets note the difference then. GT500 is built by Ford, but Shelby GT500 as built in Las Vegas buy the Shelby plant. If you own a Standard Mustang GT, you can have it sent to Vegas and in a few months it will be shipped back as a Shelby GT.

On a side note, if you have a Ford F-150, you can also ship it to Vegas and they will ship it back to you as a Shelby F-150. About 2 years ago I took a tour of the Shelby plant and they were working on the first F-150 to be Shelby-ized.
