Maybe the cop won't show. Sometimes when that happens and you have a nice judge, the case gets thrown out.
If the cop does show, being your first offense they may reduce the speed and fine...
Maybe invest in proven good radar/laser detector.

Ask him if he has ever driven a camaro. Be honest, tell him that they are made to drive fast, and even at 101, they will stop on a dime and handle the same as 80mph. Offer to let him drive it.

I'd stop at being honest, the rest is just going to come off as sarcastic.

There is no way to tell, too many factors. Can be minimal (although unlikely given the speed and points), could be 50%, only time will tell.

Like others have mentioned, I'd get a lawyer if I were you.

I would just be very apologetic and let them know that you know you screwed up and that it wont happen again. i got out of a 65 in a 40 by doing that one time, it was genuine i was running late to school and a SHERIF pulled me over (you know its bad when that happens) Anyway i somehow got out of it. Also you said first time in the US? where did you come from? and how long have you been here? this could help a lot in this case. also i know in la the ticket for having your tail gate down is like 300 bucks. so good luck man.

You want advice from a lawyer who is an actual expert or a bunch of people you don't know who claim to be experts?

Get what you pay for!

Good luck.

Congrats on all your money or w/e. You are still a bonehead for going 138 on a highway, one day you will realize that when you get older. (im younger than you btw).

There is nothing in that situation keeping you alive, the asphalt, guard rails, your car, etc, none of them are set up to take a wreck at those speeds.

Go to a track, put on a helmet, and go as fast as you want, and pay less than the ticket, and stay alive.

Then make one smart driving decision in your life and take it to Lime Rock Park on a track day where you can drive as hard as your guts and/or skill allows. Or bring it down to NJMP in Millville NJ.

I drive through your neck of the woods from time to time and I sure as hell wouldn't be expecting somebody to be catching me doing almost double my speed, and if you're coming over either the bridges or any of the hills that fast, all of a sudden somebody like me will be right there in front of you. The road is empty only as far ahead as you can see, even for you.

I've heard of the Guardian Angels thing set up between CT state troopers and the families - and I'm sure you know what I mean here. As an outfit they deserve way more respect than what you're displaying here.

Technically you were were exceeding the speed limit by 31 MPH and you arr worried about 2 points? Lucky your car wasn't hauled off for being a super speeder and reckless driving.

Long story short he pulled me over for exceeding 100mph limit (101) and gave me a ticket with a mandatory appearance in court.
Is there a chance that Judge will allow me to take traffic school to get rid of the points on the license? (even though that going over 100mph adds up 2 points without a possibility to correct violation?)
How should I approach judge in this situation? What should I say? This is the first time I was ever pulled over in the US and I feel very stressed.
Help please.
wanna know what my 100+ ticket resulted in back in 1993 from the CHP?

300 hours of community service
$8,500 Fine (stayed if I completed the community service within the ordered time frame)
$5,500 for the attorney
$1,400 impound fees.
6 month license suspension.

---

My advice, get one of those traffic specialist attorneys (now a days they are like $1,500) otherwise you will get boned.

I know it sucks but you have to drive back your ass from LA to San Francisco( 6-7 hours travel).

this is very bad advice.. 25+ over the limit is a misdemeanor in California, chances of the Judge lowering the fine is slim to none.

What will happen here because of being triple digits is the D.A. in your county WILL get the case, and you WILL be prosecuted, this is not a normal traffic court situation.

If you can get the D.A. to drop it to under triple digits (and chances are you will need an attorney for that) AND get it under 25+ over, then traffic school is an option.

Anything 25+ over and traffic school is not an option, anything triple digit is a misdemeanor traffic offense.

Take it from someone who has been thru it, the laws here have gotten HARDER since 1993, not easier..

These are State Vehicle Codes, not county laws, so it will go to the Superior Court, not to traffic court, that is why you have a mandatory appearance.

I also suggest you get a ride to the court, because the Judge can remand you to custody and impound your vehicle on the spot if he so chooses.

You need an attorney. This is a serious matter.

Bend over, grab your ass cheeks and spread 'em because the judge is going right up in ya. I can't believe your are still walking the streets. If you were in Georgia or the Carolinas, you would be in a orange jump suit waitin for you arraignment.
WTF were you thinking?
