101mph in 70...;/ need advice!

Hello everyone,
I was driving today to San Francisco in my Camaro and didn't even notice how it got up to 100mph, seconds later I see a police officer U-turning from the opposite lane on I-5 with his strobelights on. Long story short he pulled me over for exceeding 100mph limit (101) and gave me a ticket with a mandatory appearance in court.
Is there a chance that Judge will allow me to take traffic school to get rid of the points on the license? (even though that going over 100mph adds up 2 points without a possibility to correct violation?)
How should I approach judge in this situation? What should I say? This is the first time I was ever pulled over in the US and I feel very stressed.
Help please.

That is way way too fast. Which I think you know. Unfortunately, I don't see the judge showing much mercy. Not at those speeds. I've had a car towed for a kid I pulled over going that fast.

i knooow, but it's not like i was going 110+, technically 101 is very close to 99 which is a completely different violation. If you don't think judge will show much mercy, how should I talk to him/her and what should I say to maybe at least give it a try?!

It happened at 7.23PM PST, there were not a lot of cars on the roads, but there were some.

Bleh, you're making it worse. All you can really do is plead no contest, the judge will ask you to explain yourself, then just explain "You're honor, I admit that I was well exceeding the speed limit and putting others at unnecessary risk, I was simply not paying attention to my speeds and traffic was lite. I didn't realize my speed was so high, is there any you can do for me if I attend a driving awareness course". Something of that sort. I don't know Calif. traffic laws so I don't know the cutoff speeds for points and such. I would assume however that over 99mph has to me more than 2 points. That's reckless op and 6 points here.

Honestly it looks better if you were 'showing off' to a girl over 'I didn't notice' b/c they will think you were lying and punish you fully. Liars rub cops the wrong way very badly.

It also would have looked better if nobody was on the road at say 3:30 am.

3rd, how old are you? Plays a factor as well.

This may be a local law but I think 20 or 25 over the speed limit warants a suspension of your license.

The friends that I know that have gotten tickets for speeds of 105-120 usually just take the points and huge ticket cost. W/o the suspension of license. 2 points isn't bad. Here you would have gotten a wreckless operation worth 6 points.

Hello my brother from another mother.LOL.. Yo, I think you need to appear at San Francisco on the county that you were cited for that speeding ticket. I thought you were caught in LA. But anyhow you can always ask the JUDGE to lower your fine as well as to decrease the points on your license and attend for traffic school. I know it sucks but you have to drive back your ass from LA to San Francisco( 6-7 hours travel).

Always on it my Ohio brother.

Oh, btw OP. If you pay for a lawyer local to the area you were caught they will be the ones asking the judge to drop the points.

Well 2 points out of 4 maximum this is pretty bad. I will try to say that. Thank you, Adam! I think this will be the best actually.

There were no girls around. Well it wasn't 3.30AM, the ticket clearly states 7.23PM :(

Yea I know, brrrr. I was caught just 1 hour away from LA, so maybe it won't be that far.

There is a HUGE difference in 138 and 101 lol. 101 is wreckless, 138 is just stupid. OP you don't need to waste $$$ on a lawyer...you weren't arrested.
