Yeah, towards the end, it looks like he is resting the bar on his face. I didn't notice the hooks. He definitely did have a panic attack when the bar dropped on him...

I agree with you on the squats, and for the most part deads (even though it is a more narrow motion range), but I disagree on the bench.

With proper form on the bench, you can allow the bar to drop with your shoulder blades back, driving from your lats. In addition, good core balance as you drive up helps accentuate the chest. So, while primarily chest, I see it as being one of the best overall lifts.

Squats and deads are pretty much whole body lifts, benches are somewhat limited. Do nothing but benches for six months and see the results, then do the same with squats or deads. I see alot of guys who focus on benches and curls, you know, the stuff you see in the mirror and they've got scrawny legs and no ass.

Hey I'm totally with you. That's why I said, "benching is one of the best overall lifts you can do".

You integrate that with the other top 5 lifts (deads and squats are in there too) and you're set.

That's the difference between those that know and those that don't. You've got to work it all. Wanna bet how the kid in the video works out, well, he'll probably quit now. lol

Amen.

I see it every week at my gym. They run these rediculous, poorly-managed, "boot camps".

The return rate after the groupon expires is literally less than 1% lol.

I lift alone too, but my bench press is turned on by me touching the bar, so when I let go, it holds right where it is. It is amazing because I never have to worry. You guys should look into it if you have the money.

anyway I would hope this was a joke or something. Like you guys said, why would he upload this?

I always wonder why people upload stupid crap, just like criminals uploading what they do, it may have even been live where he could not stop it.

I honestly don't think it is a joke but it wouldn't be the first time I've been wrong, lol

Not to gloat, but I have pretty jacked and tone arms and legs... And I haven't done a bicep curl, a tricep extension, or a calf press in years.

It's all about Olympic lifts and lifts that target multiple muscle groups. Isolation exercises don't do much of anything for you. Combine that with interval, body weight lifts and you're money.
