Climate change driven by humans or natural cycles of the Earth, it seems evident that something is happening.

We cant explain exactly what or how, but Summers are getting hotter, Winters storms, tropical storms, floods in Asia. Icebergs breaking up into chunks and floating away...and btw we have a freeze warning in AZ tonight...something is a-brewin...

Interesting, our global warming is affecting the weather on mars. The ice caps on both planets are melting at an unusual rate at the same time along with unusual weather patterns. Something weirder....the solar flares on the sun are peaking at the same time.....hmmmm....naaaaa....One thing for sure, as long as my carbon foot print is smaller than Al Gores I'm saving the planet...jeez I could buy 20 more Camaros and still be under his foot print...snort....

All I'll say is there is a bigger power at work here and I believe no matter what man believes he can change or control he's just a pawn with the same outcome in sight.

All I know is I am going to burn as much octance down the strip each weekend as I can!!!

BTY, the same scientist/organizations that claim global warming is happening now are the same organizations that claimed we were going into a ice age in the 70's.....follow the money, thats all it is...

I don't want to close this thread. So far, I don't have to close this thread. Closing threads like this is not fun for me, especially with so much friendly discussion. Please keep it up!

I also agree that climate change is a better term. First, the world gets warm enough to melt the ice caps. The cold water goes into the ocean and changes weather patterns, generally making them more severe. That means hotter hot days and colder cold days. The world moves from moderation to extremes. When the melted ice caps cause too much cold water to spread, the thawing slows. Eventually, water freezes into ice again, but this time it is too much. The freezing spreads, and continents become covered in a bitter ice age. Time thaws the ice, but that takes eons.

It is not caused by man, but man contributes to it for the first time in world history. Pollutants that naturally occur in nature are multiplied. We do not know for certain how much this affects the cycle, but we know that pollutants created by human industry affect Earth in ways that tend to make local environments warmer. That is why they called it global warming.

I want to be clear when I point out that I don't know whether we are making it worse. One thing is for sure. My Camaro is awesome, and so are all of yours!

Global Cooling was the "problem" in the 70's. Global Warming was the initial name for the "problem" 5 years ago.

So then, we have too many winters where it's unusually cold, so to save face all of the major proponents of the global warming "problem" decide that the "problem" should instead be called climate change.

Guess what, every year, we go through 4 different climate changes. Winter to spring, spring to summer, summer to fall, and fall to winter. Sometimes the summer is cooler or hotter than "normal" and sometimes the winter is colder or warmer than "normal." The problem is, whenever you ask a "scientist" to define "normal" they get all flustered and start pointing towards average temperatures, even though those "average" temperatures include lots of extremes over the last century-ish.

I will only get worried in the event that the "problem" is now called climate unchange. Unless it decides to hover around 75° all year, then I might not be so concerned. But if the thermometer doesn't move all year from either 120° or 20°, then I'll concede that there's a problem.
