I will reserve judgment here since we are only hearing the OP's version of the events. Without the benefit of internal affairs investigations, judges, juries, attorney's, witness statements, video/audio evidence, denigrating cops is easy to do in any discussion forum. Reading between the lines here, I would reckon two groups of teens driving a Camaro and a Mustang on the freeway were probably engaged in doing something that is not being admitted to by the OP.
Threads like this do nothing to support the image of law enforcement. The LEO isn't here to defend themselves and the hatred gets erroneously and ignorantly perpetuated. How is it that I have driven on California roads for 40 years and no LEO has ever done this to me? I will say though that California LEO's specially assigned to traffic enforcement must drive marked (black and white) police cars. While plain wrapper or unmarked cars can make traffic stops, the officers cannot be assigned to the duties of traffic enforcement. Here is the law.. 40800. (a) A traffic officer on duty for the exclusive or main purpose of enforcing the provisions of Division 10 (commencing with Section 20000) or 11 (commencing with Section 21000) shall wear a full distinctive uniform, and if the officer while on duty uses a motor vehicle, it must be painted a distinctive color specified by the commissioner. Sorry, being a Cop and having had a 17-18 year old son, I'm skeptical this is the entire story. And you not showing your hands when told to do so, is the brief half-second so many officers have lost their lives. That's the half-second of contimplation many criminals have taken to shoot the officer, or run him over, etc.
Excuse my sterotypical view of your story. However, some cops are pricks. But you meet pricks at Home Depot. What do you do in that case? Complain to management. If you feel that you have a complaint - voice it, but to the appropriate agency.

![]() We all know what kind of attitude an 18 year old with is friends can have (we all been there...), but I don't think pointing a gun at there face is the way to ''teach them respect''. In fact I think that will just make hate police even more. Personnally. I don't hate police. My broter in law is a cop and I have a few friends in police too. But sometimes they tell me story about how other cops act that just pisses me off. They act like they're ''above'' everybody. Well guess what, they sit on the crapper like everybody else...Someday, acting like that will come back at them. I'm just happy my friends are'nt like that.

Well we have one side of the story. We should have closure when you file a complaint? Did I see "Mustang" on the OP's post? Maybe he and his friends are having good laugh right now.

But I understand that when a cop first pulls someone over, they are more afraid then anyone else, not knowing what they are approaching at that moment. Just after they searched us etc. I don't see why they needed to continue with being so disrespectful. Quote:

However I did miss some parts about them yelling at me for "asking stupid questions" after i politely asked about the searching. Quote:
I don't see what we did to piss them off so much to a point where he wants to take me in just because he can? |

I mean no disrespect towards Military law enforcement especially when I am in an Air Force town. Their officers appear to be very professional and well trained..plus practice safe tactics.. BUT they are in a different world on Base from my experience. The MP's here at least don't come out in the "trenches" with us. Military means a good chance of being armed, but then again they know who has them and who doesn't----its a different experience when you know who has the firearms. plus if you are supposed to "carry" then by all accounts you have the firearm for a legitimate purpose and probably won't be blowing my head off with it. NOT KNOWING is a huge battle in itself.. My area is slowly being overrun with a gang presence. The local university pulls most of its students from the major metropolitan areas---DC, BALTIMORE, PHILLY, NYC, and TRENTON/CAMDEN. Those people are bringing in their friends from the inner city areas who unfortunately have a different agenda it seems then getting an education. Thats something that the military here is not dealing with head on because they are separated in their own area. These people are not out to get caught for anything no matter how small the crime and they will shoot first and deal with the consequences later. Here's a real world example of gun out for less. I stop a car for running a stop sign. its 2 am on an empty road, 4 occupants, as I walk up to the car the left rear (23yr old) passenger is trying to hide "something" behind his right foot--his hand is just coming up from the floorboard. Out comes the piece, everybody hands up, back up called, I order him out, guess what--- he was trying to hide an open Bud Lite cause he didn't realize its not illegal in our State to have an open container. I couldn't even arrest him. now do you think I lost control? It just as easily could have been a "STREET HOWITZER" (sawedoff shotgun)
