If you guys think gas is high now, just wait. It may go down some and it may be overpriced for today's actual demand. But do some research and you'll see the sales projections for autos in China and India. So if you believe we can't have a robust economy without cheap gas prices...........hang on it's going to get bumpy.

Today oil is plentiful. It isn't scarce. But with a bit of help from a lot of sources from media, government, investors it seems as if it is. And millions and millions of new drivers in china and India won't help that.

But there is hope. The worlds 4th largest auto market behind china, the US and japan is energy independent. Brasilia usese home grown E100 made from home grown resources. And thisnis a country with almost 200 million people.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, we aren't addicted to oil......we're addicted to CHEAP oil.

$1.28 a LITRE here for 93, that calculates to about $5.12 a gallon.. stop the complaining about prices until you come up here and pay what were paying.. and the majority of the gasoline people in the U.S. are buying is from CANADA. it makes no sense to me, other than the taxes we pay up here. and the prices of our cars are more expensive like montreal2010yellow stated. you guys are lucky to be paying what you are, we can only wish...

Same here in upstate NY. The Camaro, when fully broken in, should get better mileage than my last car (99 Avenger V6). Still, it doesn't make my wallet feel any better.

Thank you! This is exactly the problem with not only gas prices, but the economic problems we're facing. Speculators have driven up energy costs which has driven up all economic production costs, making everything more expensive. This is a major reason why economies tanked worldwide in recent years.

The US is drilling in the Gulf, and the moratorium only impacted deep water drilling.

That said, even with current levels of drilling, we don't have the refinery capacity we need because oil companies haven't reinvested their profits into building new/upgrading existing refineries. They took record profits from the last few years and rewarded shareholders and speculators. Every time a refinery shuts down (weather, seasonal formula changes, unforeseen accident) the gas prices immediately spike.

Yeah, the rising gas prices annoy me. But, the corruption and profiteering that caused it gets me more annoyed.

Prices have gone up about 20-25 cents around the holidays by me. They usually hover around between 2.95 and 3.05 for 93 octane. But lately they have been 3.25-3.30.

Gas prices would go down if off-shore drilling and Alaska exploration was allowed. While we are at it, let's increase capacity by building some new refineries. Right now none of that is happening. For now, we depend on the dependable and friendly folks in in the Middle East to satisfy our appetite for crude.
Gas prices are high because of our government, the people you elect.

Heck, if gas prices go up just a dime, I'm paying an extra $1.90 to fill my tank. Big @#$%ing deal!!! You people who are whining spend more than that on a pack of smokes, bottled water, bran muffins, or your Starbuck's. GET OVER IT!!!

You knew the price going in buying a sports car with less mileage and the possibility of gas prices going up. Deal with it and stop whining like a bunch of @#$%ing titty-babies.
I love you!

Furthermore... giving up some bad habits save me more than just money. Hell... I can save time in my gym, less time in court defending myself against tickets, and even (if U are a smoker) less risk of other ailments resulting from Nicotine.

Truth is... I'd rather gas be cheaper.. but a bright-side has to be found in things that we cannot change.
You too

I would have thought anyone able to afford a new Camaro, of whichever specification, isn't really hurting financially, other wise they would have bought a used 4 cylinder vehicle. Just for the record, I converted our gas prices to dollars, and it's.......$8.53 A GALLON!!!
SEE!!!

I am glad SOME people see my point!

Free Canadian healthcare isn't really free, is it ? You're right though, everything is relative, I guess.

Higher gas prices are the best thing that can happen for promoting innovation in alternative energy sources. I'm not saying it isn't hard on people to raise gas prices. It is. That's why we need alternative energy technologies.

Also, drilling in remote areas solves nothing in the long term. It might help prices for a few years, but it is very short-sighted. We can harm areas that may be the only true remaining wilderness areas and in a few years, we're right back where we started - looking for more. We need other sources of energy that are renewable.

I know not everyone feels this way. If there was an easy solution, we would have already found it and we wouldn't be having this discussion.

In the meantime, if you think gas prices are high in the US, go buy gas in Canada or Europe. It's a LOT more expensive there. We've had cheap gas for many many years and are a bit spoiled by it.

Happy holidays to all of you.
