![]() Furthermore... giving up some bad habits save me more than just money. Hell... I can save time in my gym, less time in court defending myself against tickets, and even (if U are a smoker) less risk of other ailments resulting from Nicotine. Truth is... I'd rather gas be cheaper.. but a bright-side has to be found in things that we cannot change. |

For. the. love. of. God....you bought a muscle car, commute a good ways and then worry about gas mileage????????????
Try living INside the perimeter and paying the taxes on property etc. Damned if you do, damned if you don't - capisce? While I feel your pain - I'm also 1 week away from being full time employed for the first time since 09/2009. Suck. It. Up. |

A pack of cigs in some states = 3 gallons of gas...we have it good in some aspects...why complain about something we can't change...if you want to complain about gas, sell your camaro and buy a hybrid

I would have thought anyone able to afford a new Camaro, of whichever specification, isn't really hurting financially, other wise they would have bought a used 4 cylinder vehicle. Just for the record, I converted our gas prices to dollars, and it's.......$8.53 A GALLON!!!

When I filled up the SS last week 93 octain was $3.47.9 a gallon. I bet it's higher now. As long as OIL is a bad word in this country, gas and petroleum products will continue to go up.

TWO CHOICES:
1. Good economy 2. Low gas prices you can't have both.

Yes, most of us on this forum can afford the gas. The "whining" is because fill up is another chance to see the numbers spin on the pump, and feel the rummaging, violating sensation of having someone else's hand in our pockets on our wallets. I couldn't imaging paying $8/gallon or more in Europe. Having one April 15 is bad enough. 50 a year would kill me.

The big problem is as gas prices go up the cost of all goods will go up. This in the end run it will be just like a big tax hike on everyone. The tree huggers will love it though until they can't afford to buy their nuts and berries any more do to them costing to much to bring to market.
The 2nd recession is coming and it will be much worse than the last one. Fuel cost and subsides to the ethonal group which is going to raise wheat and corn prices hugely is going to bring it. Bread is expected to be 7.00-10.00 a loaf by summer. Start thinking about that. |

Everyone but USA drilling in the gulf (read no oil no jobs), no Alaska new drilling (read no oil no jobs), oil shale land put off limits by greens and their hired politicans (read no oil no jobs), no new refineries/nuke plants (read no gas no jobs and no cheap clean power) and guess what the Gov (with no investment/risk) makes more off a gallon of gas than the oil companies. 91 Octane 3.10 and reg 2.84 here....going no where but up... |

Muscle car power (400hp+) and good fuel economy are not mutually exclusive. It takes R&D investment and technological breakthroughs. Giving up and saying that because it has 400hp+ hp means you need to get the same mileage as a Suburban is just silly.
Ford is trying, Dodge isn't, and Chevy is somewhere in the middle.
