Price alone does not make vehicles comparable.

Comparing a Mustang to a Vette is about as apples to oranges comparison as you will find.

Let me know when you can call your vette a 2+2 coupe or take 4 people anyhwere in it. The mustang is a MUCH roomier, larger car than the corvette. Should we compare the mustang gt to the base cts just because they have similar prices?

It sounds more to me that Chevy will try and do it before they can make this mythical Z28.

If U want... WTF would I care.

Personally I could careless about 2+2 seating in anything I bought as a Toy. My CTS-V has had my kids in twice in the year I've owned it.

As I said.. I didn't compare the Vette to the GT500... the Magazines and Ford did.

It's tru.. and hey... after the demise of the Ford GT... what else could they compare?

Ford has two vehicles in North America that actually seem fun to drive. The Mustang GT/GT500 and the Raptor. That's it for the past 4 years.

GM has or has had the Camaro SS, Corvette/GS/Z06/ZR1, CTS/CTS-V/Sedan/Coupe/Wagon, SRXTurbo, CobaltSS, HHRSS, STS/STSV, G8GT/GXP, Solstice/Solstice GXP, Sky/Sky RL...

I often wonder which company is REALLY supposedly being run by the Government.

Why is it "mythical???" The Camaro was new for 2010. I think U Ford Fan Lil Boys are gonna be in for a helluva surprise now that Chevy knows what's on the Mustang Agenda for 2011

And look at where having all those different cars got them. Dont get me wrong I think its great that they had such a huge variety but it didn't make them money. I mean even the Vettes sales are bad right now.

I hope that Chevy realizes in the building on the Z/28 that Ford has at least 110hp more they can add to the GT500 at any time.

And it is mythical because we have no credible information about the car.

Most GT500 cross-shopping is vs. the SRT8, 2ss, M3 Coupe, etc..... besides, I didn't have enough gold chains or spray on tanning lotion to qualify for the vette........

Having all those cars HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH the BK... the 100 Years of Legacy costs did. Ford currently has almost as much Debt as GM had when it filed in 2009. The $2 Billion it profited Q1 would do little to offset it. THEN there is still the UAW in the less favorable contract for Ford than it is for GM/Chrysler. (another thing that makes me question the Obama/UAW conspiracy theories, as the UAW really kinda got stuck in the GM/Chrysler negotiations)

ALSO... Vette sales are down because it is in a PREMIUM market now:

As of MARCH 2010... if U really look at the SEGMENT... here are Porsche sales of the 911 and Cayman Boxster

Current Year Prior Year Current Year Prior Year

ALL BOXSTER/CAYMAN

184 517 343 783

ALL 911
339 557 842 1,002

Total
543 1074 1185 1785

Then here are the Corvette:

Corvette
624 1,027 1,478 1,869

Keep in mind I used PORSCHE BOXSTER and CAYMAN sales combined with 911... where that effectively gives a Porsche vehicles that start at $46K-$130K and Vette vehicles that start at $49K - $117K making them not only competitors, but also same segment across the board... meaning the ACTUAL BUYING demographic that can even afford these..

I always thought that the 2000 PT Cruiser started the retro craze.
and... The 2000 T-Bird assisted the start of the retro craze.
and... The 2003 Chevy SSR continued the retro craze.

Next thing you'll say is the mustang was the first small sporty car with a V8 to come out.
