Pretty much what I've been saying all along. A Driver's race thru and thru. I'll use an example from a conversation I was having once about the Z06 vs the GTR:

Once a fellow Forum Member posted a comparo between the Nissan GT-R and the Porsche GT3 but then for some reason went of on a tangent citing a simple comment.. lost in the rest of the comparison about how the Nissan GTR edged a Corvette Z06 by 1/10th of a second on a race circuit.

OK... YES I SAID 1/10th of a Second... and any one who has ever truly raced (I ain't talking about Stoplights either) on a track... against unknown cars with unknown mods... a TENTH of a SECOND is a WIN, but the next race between the SAME 2 cars, could be completely DIFFERENT... with the win going to the guy who lost the first time.

This GTR fan doesn't realize that that 1/10th second that they are all excited about could have been a simple slip of the wrist in shifting.. damn near anything.

THEY will ultimately take us back to the RING time that the GT-R posted over the Z06, not realizing that this 1/10th of a second situation actually refutes the claims that the GTR was so much faster than the Z at the Ring.

We all must realize when times are that close, it is a simple act of fate... or more than likely a Driver's error or determination that would bring such an outcome.

AWD versus RWD is more in line with the debate... I am willing to bet that the GT-R because of it AWD system simply hooks up better than the Z06 in the take off. BASICALLY it's a "Driver's Race.." That is when actual SKILL of driving will determine the outcome of a race more so than the cars, being similar in strengths, will.

This is Called "A DRIVER'S RACE"

I have seen cars down by 100HP beat the *** outta a car with 100 more, just because the other racer could shift better than the other... because the guy may have had a bad night... because...

The Mustang (on all season tires no less) MATCHED the Camaro SS in 0-60 and lost by only 2/10ths in the 1/4 mile. Essentially a drivers race... and one that can be matched up closer for by the fact the Stang doesn't have Summer tires like the Camaro. But you say the Mustang is inferior in every way. Then you bring up that its all a drivers race.

Get your story straight before you decide to debate people.

Just to clarify Rouge the Mustang with all-season tires got a 13.3 and the same stang with summer only tires got 13.0. A tenth better better then the 13.1 Camaro, so technially what he is saying is correct. He's just a little harsh with the way he is saying things tho.

Truth of the matter it's a driver race, simple as that. Any slip will result in a loss.

The part about it being a drivers race is correct, I've said the same.

The part about the Mustang being inferior in every way contradicts that when in reality it can match the Camaro. Thats what I was pointing out.

ok cool got you. Yeah that's true, in the end it comes down to what you like. I like both interiors but I like the Camaros better, just something about all that orange I got shining on a bright sunny day.. lol

Both cars are each others equal, looks and options will come down to what the owner desires.

the 5.0 was in development before the new Camaro even came out. And Camaro wasnt "gone", it was dead. The Mustang revived it with the 2005 design that started the retro craze which is why the Camaro went retro as well.
in 2005 ford upped the power of the mustang from 260hp to 300hp (trap speeds indicate closer to 325hp) even though they had no competition from GM. They built the 500hp GT500 in 2006-2007 even though GM didnt have anything to compete with it, so its not like fords been sitting on their butts doing nothing with the Crustang.

Remember in 2011 the base number for the GT500 will be 550hp.

Awww but they did have competition from GM. The GTO hit the market in 04 with 350hp and then 05 with 400hp, and was whipping up on the mustang as far as performance wise. GT's didn't want any parts of a GTO. That's just proof tho that the better performer faster car isn't what will sell tho. Many didn't like the looks of the GTO and just over looked it. But there was competition with the GTO and the Charger.
