Global warming refers to what is happening to the polar ice caps. The net effect is that sea levels rise and weather patterns become unpredictable, like snow in Texas when it's almost March.

by definition, global warming does not refer to any one region of the planet. It describes the average temperature going up. There can still be cold spots, but there will either be more warm spots, or the warm spots will be higher above normal than cold ones are below.

^ yea true that. I also have read that because of all the moisture in the summer due to global warming, the atmosphere holds this and when winter comes around releases which causes snow in unusual parts of the country. However many people say this is just a cycle (which i kinda believe), those people being scientist even my physics teach agreed to this theory...but who knows?

oh and i was gonna ask are you using Winter tires? or all season or summer?

"Global warming" is a misnomer for man's effect on natural weather patterns. The theory is that we are seeing a general warming trend, but that's an effect, not the central theme. A more accurate description that I will borrow from a piece that I read recently is "global weirding", referring to the permanent changes that we may affect on weather patterns.

I'm not going to argue mans effect on the climate of our planet, but the definition is close to what I wrote. Public perception immediately links 'man made' and 'global warming', but the term 'global warming' doesn't refer to any specific cause. It is the effect of some cause which could be geological, astronomical, man made, or a combination of all three.

Sorry guys it's my dads fault for the ice age. He used aerosol deodorant before they made it enviro friendly. He quit using it and now it's warming. Sadly he passed away so his pits will no longer be in control. :(

I'm still waiting for them to explain why Mars has seen a similar increase in global temperature as Earth. Last I checked, humanity hadn't made it there, yet.

I'm thinking the climatologists should pay more attention to the astronomers.

The atmosphere doesn't hold or release water. Water vapor is always present in the atmosphere (water vapor is actually the largest greenhouse gas too). It is only when relative humidity reaches 100% does water vapor condense and precipitate. When you hear people say that the atmosphere "holds" or "releases" water, this is a misnomer, because the water is always there in the form of water vapor. And believe it or not, there is actually more water vapor present in the atmosphere in the deserts of the world, than there is at the poles.
