+1 for the "I didn't know that either!" group. Good info.
So all these times I've made a big mess trying to pre-fill the oil filter and then screw it into place, I was making a mess and wasting my time (and oil-LOL).
Good to know and perfect timing- I just changed the oil and haven't restarted it yet. Thanks

I'm still gonna pre-fill, it's not too bad on this car. It's not like some cars where the damn thing goes on sideways or hidden behind a bunch of other components you have to snake through.

Tried "Clear Flood" technique today and quite happy with the results. Car has been in hibernation since mid-October and really wanted to get some oil up top.
It was a bit tricky being as I have three pedals. Required: Depress Clutch, hold brake, Gas pedal to the floor, hit the start button to crank. Holding the brake pedal down with your right heel and using your toes on the same foot to depress the gas requires flexible sneakers, for sure.
Admittedly, I was a bit nervous, but it all worked out.
Thanks to those who provided this excellent tip.

+1 for another "Never knew it did that!"

Fired up the Camaro after it's winter slumber and tried it out and worked perfectly. The only thing to note is you must press the brake pedal down, then the accelerator (to the floor) and then push the ignition button... At first I was trying without the brake pedal, just following instruction here thinking accelerator only, but it didn't work obviously.

Let it chug for a few seconds before pushing the ignition again to shut it off before firing it up. Turned over instantly.

Wish I knew that the past few years for the first start of the season!

No kidding! I felt the same way, glad I know it now!
