2016 Zl1 and up brake caliper brackets?
Yes I was wonder if I can swap my brakes of my 2016 Camaro SS for 2016+ Zl1 rotors and calipers? I only need the Zl1 rotors and caliper’s and obviously the brake caliper brackets? I got 20” rims

IMO if you are still at stock power level, this move isn't a slam dunk. The car won't stop much quicker, 60-0 braking distance will be only 10 ft less (107 vs 117 ft) and you're unlikely to need the higher heat dissipation capacity of the large ZL1 brakes, but you'll add unsprung mass to all four wheels and continuously keep paying the price for that, on top of the pain of the upgrade cost, naturally. If you really want that shorter braking distance, the SS 1LE 6-piston brakes are smaller and lighter than the ZL1's and deliver the exact same 107 ft from 60 to 0 while keeping the rear brakes the same as the SS. That said, if you just want some big a** brake rotors and calipers to look good on the car, go right ahead , you might as well go for the largest 398mm BCD rotors for maximum visual impact. After all, the Camaro isn't a rational car purchase to begin with, but it's sooo much fun

Re your great point about caliper and rotor sizes, here's a quick summary for MickeycamaroSS. Chevrolet Performance big brake upgrade kit for the SS: 370 mm rotors SS 1LE: 370 mm rotors ZL1: 390 mm rotors ZL1 BCD: 398 mm rotors

I have a set of ZL1 Copper Free Calipers (grey with the ZL1 logo) in perfect condition that i was thinking of selling. These are the largest calipers availble for the camaro. This would be the best upgrade but would require the Largest rotor 398mm

It's okay, you're protecting the rotors and calipers more and unless you drive real hard without cooldown periods, you should be fine. I for one am happy with the SS 1LE front setup, it's lighter and has the same braking power, but I do understand the visual appeal of those biiiig rotors.

My 2018 Yukon Denali with 132K miles on original brakes is also getting a brake upgrade. 16.2" front rotors with 6 piston Brembos & adding 4 piston Brembos to the rear.
