2022 Camaro - what kind of USB ports are present?

I just read an article on GMAuthority that the Lyriq will only have USB type-C connectors and no USB As at all. Got me to wondering what to expect when I get my '22 2SS. Do the Camaros only have USB A, or a combination of USB A and C? Currently using an older iPhone w/ a lightning cable so I know I'm covered w/ the A, but curious about options for the future or if I want to charge my iPad, which is a USB C.

And yes, I know the 2SS has a wireless charging location and has wireless Car Play and Android Auto, but I prefer using wired connections whenever possible.

Unless GM updated the console for 2022, you'll get two USB A 2.0 slots.

I have upgraded my 2018 receptacle to the one that comes with the GM trucks so I can have an SD card reader (you may already receive something similar from the factory), but this is kind of what you can expect:

Appreciate the responses - I can always get an inverter for charging. I'll just keep an eye out for something like arpad used becoming available, maybe once the Lyriqs start rolling out.

What is the part number of this updated one. I would like to have the SD card reader in my car as well.

Thanks

Hey Archfx, the part number I purchased was 22990883 and it's guaranteed to work (even shows the proper SD icon in the media player app), you can ignore what online compatibility checkers say.

There is an updated part for 2019+ model year GM vehicles with 1x USB-A and 1x USB-C plus an SD card reader, its part number is 13529869, but I'm not sure if it works on the Camaro... perhaps you could be the guinea pig for the community on this one

My 2023 1SS lacked sufficient charging, so I added my own by tapping the existing power socket. Pretty easy and you get whatever you want. Easy to add to the rear of the center console.

Here is my write-up:

Thanks for the information. Regarding the 13529869, the 6 pin connector does not align, USB type connector seems to be the same one. If the wiring diagrams are available I can double check this. If we can figure it out, type c would be very nice touch!

Yeah, it's a truck/SUV part that seems to have the same form factor.

It's so very GM to change the connector just for change's sake, but hopefully the signaling is compatible with the new (2019+) Camaro infotainment, as it's technically the same as the one in the trucks/SUVs listed in the compat chart.
