OK guys...I just ordered mine and it will be the first mod on my engine as well...
Tony I'm looking forward to trying out your TB.. That annoying dead spot/lag has always been a sticking point for me even with only 12,000 miles on the clock...I'm ready for the upgrade !! |

Putting up with it that long is a crime....you will see!! The good news is a guy like you will really appreciate the upgrade ![]() Unlike most upgrades that pay their largest dividends at WOT (3 % of most people's driving), this mods gives you most of its perks in the lower and midrange part throttle positions (97% of your driving) which means you appreciate the upgrade constantly! By the way if any of you are even reading this it's a damn miracle as this thread was moved to a section that took me 30 seconds to even find. Trying to get it moved back to where it belongs! -Tony |

Gonna have to wait till closer to taking the car out in the spring time... I'll want to drive it in the dead of winter if I don't... So guess I'm gonna have to wait a few months to order, but man seems like a solid setup reading all the info on it.

Mine is supposed to be delivered today.
I'm so far on the edge of my seat that the chair is practically useless! |

Mine arrived early.
Upon inspection, I did notice there's still a small visible raised edge on the lower half of the tb bore, which can be seen in the attached pic. I'm assuming this is normal based on some of the other pics I've seen, but still wanted to point it out because I haven't seen it mentioned before. I promptly installed the tb. M6 car. So far, I've only taken the car on 2 short 15 minute drives, so take my comments with a grain of salt. (I really need to take a spirited mountain road drive for the full experience.) That said, I did do a few WOT pulls to redline, for science ![]() Throttle input feels subtlety different, in a good way. Overall throttle response improved. The throttle tip-in 'dead spot' is greatly reduced, potentially gone. Blips feel a little more crisp. I found the throttle response improvement more obvious when aggressively applying throttle angle. It also maybe feels like the there's a *slight* improvement to top end power, but it could be a placebo effect. |

Just curious, but I have an idea and would like to see how a pro handles this. Many thanks in advance.

Now it feels more linear. As my shoe hits the pedal the rpm is already on the rise and as my foot is overcoming the return spring pressure its almost like a softer feeling. Like less foot effort is getting more results compared to before. Ive always had a problem with trying to keep it sideways while going through a turn. The pedal always felt like a hard to control balance of throttle to keep the tires spinning. Hopefully this helps with that. |

Thanks, this makes sense as this TB appears to have more of a taper that helps airflow to be more gradual off idle. I have a Soler TB that also has pre-cut notches to allow more air through at all times, which helps, but that change also comes with a large reduction in off-throttle engine braking near idle. The car basically coasts much-much longer in low gears at close to idle before finally dropping back to the normal, slow no-pedal creep (mine's an auto), which isn't ideal. I'm wondering if you'll see any of that with the Mamo, and if yes, how you'll tune around it

Also guys questioning more peak power I assure you that's real.....not placebo. Your TB is providing 23% more airflow at a higher rate of discharge speed also (complete win win when you get both!). What happened to an old school engine when you put a larger carb on it.....unless you went overkill larger and hurt atomization of the fuel you almost always made more power. It's even more the rule with throttle bodies as your not concerned with atomizing fuel.....it's just an air valve and the more it flows the more power you have the potential to make.....especially if your also improving the airspeed which is dramatically enhanced here (the same 87 mm exit orifice is now moving 23% more air over stock). Arpad....try one of my V3 TB's.....you have 30 days to make up your mind. I think you will be impressed with it and that situation you targeted will be eliminated. Cheers, Tony |
