As others have stated, the cooler in the lower section is for transmission fluid that cools the transmission and differential. If you look under the car there is a reverse scoop design. As the vehicle moves forward the "scoop" creates negative pressure under the cooler and the cavity above the cooler is positive pressure. This creates an air current that draws through the cooler.

I'm pretty aware of how heat exchangers work. I just didnt know what that specific one cools.
