How do you guys get leaves out of this cavity?
Leave collect in this area and I'm always worried about someone throwing a cigarette out and it ending up catching the leaves on fire.
I was just wondering how you guys approach this area when cleaning. Also wondering what does this lower radiator that lays sideways cool? I have a manual trans with the rear diff cooler option. |

I bought my Camaro used and it had a bunch of leaves there like yours. Pressure washer did wonders

Gentle pressure washing is okay, I do it from a distance so the jet stream is already a haze by the time it hits the fins. Just strong enough to move the leaves, but not to bend the fins.

I am also wondering the same...l haven't had leaves in mine but get alot of tiny pebbles on top of it...seems like a poor design to have a "cooler" lay flat knowing it could collect a bunch of stuff on top of it and POSSIBLY hinder the functionality of it??
 Also curious as to what that "flat" one cools. I have an A10 with it.

If I recall, the SS has the main radiator and the two small ones for engine cooling. Mine is a convertible and does not get the two small ones for some reason. Maybe because we're limited to 155 MPH and the main radiator is sufficient for that.

That flat black radiator is the aux trans cooling heat exchanger, part of the trans cooling circuit (number 006 in the diagram).

I have a vacuum attachment that fits thru the grill.
