forgot to ask if the mrr wheels use factory lug nuts or come with their own?
also how is the fitment? more flush to the fender than stock?
trying to decide if black or the gunmetal would look better on yellow, tried googling for photos, not much showing up yet

The MRR 1LE reps require different lug nuts but they sell them. Not sure about the MRR Z28 reps, probably the same deal. For your car, go black...it's the obvious choice for a yellow car. Obvious to me anyway. You know what they say about opinions.

OP, all those MRR replicas you have looked at are flow formed, ie partially cast wheels that will not be as strong or well made as the OEM ones.

I won't harp on this any longer, so for one last time, I'd try to find OEM, maybe give these people a try before settling for replica wheels:

https://www.hubcaphaven.com/p/24015/...-23355791.html

https://www.hubcaphaven.com/p/24016/...-23355802.html

They sell (if I understand the info on their website) used/reconditioned OEM wheels for $480-520 a piece, which is nowhere near as much as what high end aftermarket forged wheels go for. Tell them you don't want replicas for the price you're paying. And these 1LE wheels look the best, but I already said that

This my vote, but I am a little biased. They glint in the sunlight, enough to almost blind a person
They are factory Camaro wheels.

Not sure what the hang up with replica wheels is all about. ??? Cast wheels are plenty good for most applications and flow formed are even better. No one is making the claim that they're as good as a fully forged OEM wheel, but they're only really necessary for serious track duty. The majority of street driven wheels out there are cast, and it's rare to hear of a broken wheel. And while a flow formed wheel would be "fine" for one or two track sessions, with the forces track driving can deliver, I would agree that in this case a forged wheel does make sense if you're going to track regularly. To suggest that the OEM wheel is top to bottom a better wheel I'd say is factually accurate. To "harp" about it, using your own words I think is to kinda miss the forest through the trees. -Again, outside of track applications.

We have different preferences and opinions, I simply offered mine. If there is even a 1-2% chance I'll hit a giant pothole or make a mistake with a curb that a stronger wheel will take without cracking or bending, to me the small OEM price premium was worth it.

OP will decide what's best for him. █

Arpad is simply pointing out that for not a lot more money, the OEM wheel is superior. If being forged doesn’t matter, GM would not have done it IMO. Again, the OP will have to decide what’s best for them, but it’s great to have the option of a higher quality product if it’s available.

These are all of the OEM forged options if OP decides to go that route.

I love my MRR017 1LE Replicas, they balanced really well and drive great... I got my set before MRR raised their prices, I think I paid around $1,400 for the complete set, brand new, at the same time OEM wheels would have cost me around $3,000... I don't track the car so I was good with the replicas...

Going to a lighter/shorter wheel made my car significantly faster. Once you pull the 20s off and have them standing up by themselves, they just look weird for how big they are. Forgestar is 20 percent off right for Black Friday.

thanks for the info and photos!
think I am leaning towards the MRR Z28 in the gray color,
they have 10 percent off through next week also.
I would think they would be about the same quality as the mustang RTR wheels, I had those on my 25 GT and they were fine.
those MRR 1LE wheels look really good on your Camaro!
I do not track , don't have a track nearby anyways, just daily driver.
I watched a youtube video on MRR last night where they gave a tour of the plant and lethal camaro guy also had the 1LE wheels installed on his car years ago, saw his video.

When I needed wheels I was limited in time and budget. Found Dynasty wheels in black stock sizes on my SS were quickly available at a decent price. I am pleased with the look and quality.
