Wheel suggestions
When I got my SS couple weeks ago I had the dealer switch out the factory summer tires for Michelin all seasons, at the time I was planning on trying to sell the summer tires.
after more thought I think I will keep the summer tires because no one will give much for them and get a second set of wheels for summer use. I found quite a few choices on discount tire, for about 1000 dollars for set of 4, 20x9 and 20x10. quite a few voxx replica wheels. anybody using these? i like the ZL1 1LE replicas, just started looking on there. thanks! |

I still find the SS 1LE wheels the absolute pinnacle of Camaro wheels in terms of look, and they're fully forged, proper and strong units, too. Just the perfect amount of spokes, shapes, distances, concavity, color, everything.
Second to them is the ZL1 1LE set you're researching, although I'd have problems cleaning that one properly; it's still the best choice if someone wants to go down to 19", say, for racing. I for one wouldn't trade fully forged OEM wheels for cast or "flow-formed" replicas, I had one kit for a short while (MRR 017) and it didn't impress overall. Sure, they're about $150-200 cheaper per corner, but to me wheels (and tires) are quality and safety investments. Needless to say, this is a subjective take

Don't have a dog in the fight here since I have a ZL1.(I LOVE the looks of the OEM ZL1 wheels by the way and have ZERO plans on changing them out.)
![]() That said. IF I owned an SS, I would 1,000,000% put the SS 1LE wheels on my SS. By far and away the best looking wheels for the SS's ![]() Just MY biased and subjective opinion as well!

Another vote for the SS 1LE wheels. I sold mine earlier this year but I'm planning on buying a ZL1 next year. The very first thing I'm doing is swapping the wheels out for the SS 1LE wheels. They're among my favorite OEM wheels from any brand

thanks for the info! is there a quality replica of the ss 1LE wheel? i googled them and looked like they were around 2 grand for set of 4. i am only going to run them for warm weather months and i am in kansas so probably april through september maybe.
has anyone had the american racing ar924 crossfire wheels? they are around 1400 for a set of 4. google says they are pretty good quality. the voxx replicas after googling them are kinda iffy on quality i think, probably too inexpensive for good quality. |

I don't think any of the reps are forged, which is one of the big reasons to buy the OEM wheels. From what I recall they're pretty hard to find new, and I would imagine almost impossible now that it's out of production. YUou're right that they are expensive so I'd look for them used on Facebook marketplace, ebay, etc... I wouldn't be intimidated by ones with minor curb rash either, you can get a pretty good deal. If you're not in the middle of nowhere it shouldn't be hard to find a shop that'll repair all 4 wheels for a few hundred bucks. I've done that before after buying used cars with curb rash.

found the ss 1le replicas on wildhammer motorsports for 1782 for set of 4.
mrr brand would the rear 20x11 be almost too wide for the factory 275/35 tires? and fronts are 20x10 for the 245/40 , seems almost too wide and will stretch and says you have to get another set of 19mm lug nuts? glad i have lots of time to research before i need the new wheels lol. |

I happen to love the stock 56R graphite/machined SS wheels, but unfortunately they just don't have the offset or width for really wide rear tire, if that's your thing. I ran 4 rears for awhile, but ultimately went with a set of MRR 1LE reps. This is my second set of replica wheels from them. Ran ZL1 reps on my first SS a few years ago.
While I suppose it's somewhat of an opinion, -I was very impressed with both sets of my MRR wheels. -and I typically DON'T like replicas, as I feel they often don't live up in terms of appearance quality. Only reason I went with them a second time was because I was impressed with the first set. -and no, they're not as strong as a forged wheel, but unless you regularly see the high stress of track duty, this isn't really an issue. All that being said, I think the best looking wheel out there is the Apex VS 5R. Opinion, I know I know, but dang!!!

My favorite all time wheel is the original Cragers. Back in the day that was the wheel to have.

EDIT, just realized you're trying to use your existing tires. Hate to buy new tires of course, but hate to buy wheels for tires today, and be locked in later. |

You'll have to hunt some black Friday deals to find something new/decent under $2K. These are the most common SS-1LE replicas, if that's the style you're looking for: https://mrrwheels.com/collections/wheels/products/m017 |

Thank you for the MRR link!
those do look nice and I like the Z28 wheels too and they come in a 20x9 and 20x10 set. better for the stock size tires. be a few hundred more dollars, they say 1680 a set. they have 2 colors, gloss black and gunmetal, how would gunmetal look on nitro yellow? be something different as i have the black oem wheels now. here is a photo of them. thanks again for the help! wheel surfing is crazy lol. |
