2017-2018 Camaros: GM App Store is Permanently Closed

FYI: "if an owner deletes an app or performs a factory reset on the system, that application is gone for good. Attempts to reinstall it will fail...it’s a definitive sunsetting of the service."

As noted previously, you can't miss what you never knew you had! I didn't know either, but then it took me at least 2 years to notice my '17 doesn't have a CD player- LOL! Yeah, I'm pretty dumb but i didn't buy this non-efficient, non-ecofriendly, gas guzzling, blind spot loving but look so right, front engine with rear wheel drive only American hot-rod to listen to much of anything BUT the motor.
As long as this doesn't result in any operational issues in the future, I'm not very concerned. Now one of you smart (younger) guys who do understand this stuff can tell me if I should be. Thanks!

...I guess you weren't the primary target for this GM "app store" thing
Keep enjoying the beast the way it was intended, never worry about that pesky tech stuff

It's ridiculous to have apps in a car. My ZL-1 came with the NY Times app and some other garbage loaded on it. I deleted it ASAP.

This kind of BS is what keeps me from buying another GM. These cars are 7 or 8 years old at worst, 6 if they bought the ‘18 as a leftover. For GM to already declare support to be dead is crazy. I’ve got 14,800 miles on my car and it might as well be 40 years old. This is why we still want real switches and knobs in our cars…those will always work without an update! And we won’t be at the mercy of a bean counter 6 years down the road.

Thank you, sir! I value your info and opinion. I do hope to continue to enjoy this car for the foreseeable future. Unless Chevy does something unpredictable but savvy IMHO (mostly cuz I'd really like to have one) and put the new Tremec manual 6spd (obviously designed to bolt into the vette) say in an otherwise "base" C8 to create the very best "every-man supercar" that the Corvette was destined to become.
Any opinions about the chances of this or am I going way too far off topic in an obvious thread theft-LOL

This is *wildly* off topic lmao! And it’s a fun discussion so please start up a new thread to discuss your M6 C8.
