2017-2018 Camaros no longer able to download apps from GM.

Do not factory reset your systems or you are stuck... Wow

Well, to be honest I haven't used any of the non-stock downloaded apps in my 2018 for a while, as they're lacking in appeal. Android Auto is far from perfect, too, but at least still gives us much more control in what apps we can and can't install.

Oh, btw, GM already pulled the excellent Camaro SIX app from google play store years ago, so I run it on a regular basis lest the Android powers-that-be decide that it's unused and should be deactivated or deleted

I used to play with that app all the time, building out a dream spec lol

Funny this comes about near the discussion of them moving off CarPlay/AA

GM has an app store for the infotainment systems? Separate from the apps I download in Android Auto?

Yes, they dabbled in creating their own in-vehicle app store experience. I downloaded Pandora and some news apps from the GM app store, but as I said above, these apps were unimpressive.

I had been thinking about something along these lines awhile back. My thought process is, what's going to happen in 10-15 years from now with the infotainment functionality? OTA updates will be long gone. Will the interface even work anymore? I know I'm veering off a bit but just something to consider.

That's why I'm glad these cars at least have physical buttons for the climate control. On the new Mustangs everything is on a screen. What happens years down the line if that ceases to work properly? No heat/AC?
