![]() My focus will be on street / 60-130 / drag and launch feedback... I will partner with one or two dedicated track clients to provide some track only perspective on a stock car and a modified car... thats where the ability to rebuild is going to come in clutch!

Do the aftermarket ones just get away from the electrical control?

I still don't understand why these very expensive shocks can't be rebuilt easily. All major quality shock brands have rebuildable shocks. |

![]() -Noisy/loose camber plate to strut... there is a large nut keeping the ball stud tight to the strut insert assembly. The only way to access it is to disassmble the entire insert assembly. Doing this means the gas charge is lost. That loose nut to ball stud can have enough play that the gas charge is lost anyway. Also. sometimes it is not the large nut causing the noise. Where the ball sits within the camber plate there is a nylon bushing. Sometimes this wears out. There are no replacement parts. -Noisy insert assembly. This can often be fixed by tightening the bottom nut. But there is also an internal nut on the other side of that visible nut that would need to be set correctly. - Leaking grease. This is normal. There is grease within the DSSV struts for the strut insert movement. There is a breather on the strut that can vent excess grease. GM has a TSB on this. It was also common on the Gen5 Z/28 DSSVs.

If the goal is Drag Racing and Ride quality, the package offered by Strange Engineering would be a better setup.. With over 14,200 miles of the 34K on my ZLE being logged on Road Course tracks... I will never understand building a ZLE for drag racing when the base ZL1 is the perfect car for that. RPAddicted... is there a tariff from Thailand to France? I travel there often and could ship something from there or bounce it from there since we have zero tariffs from the USA there at the moment. Luckily I have not had a failure of my DSSV struts as I inspect them after each event or any time the car goes on the lift, checking the torque of the base nut always. As soon as I have a set to tear down, I have the fixture for rebuilding pressure tube struts and will do so when I take mine off the car. |

Damn that poor corvette! Did the wreck make those doors go vertical?! That looks hideous lol
Jokes aside thanks for the suggestion on the Strange Engineering ones, it's nice to see real world experience instead of 60-130 pulls or driving on rough roads on the 405 haha....any suggestion on a good all around coil over for road/drag scenarios? Gabe are the cooling bits and pieces you sell and most of all the other parts you create track tested? Was just curious as I'm interested in a few of your products, but they look more cosmetic over function without any real world track data to speak of. EDIT: Never mind your website states "Below are the results of our first street driving test. More high speed and track results to follow." |

The 60-130 is great for drag racing only... real men start at 100 to 150! Who can hook up at 60mph?? The fastest drag cars I know run the Strange struts. Check out the photo below and zoom it in... you will see the track miles wear on the car but the results speak for themselves. Logs show 14,200 miles on the track... results speak loud when the tests allow for 18 sessions, two drivers, two full days and not once did the toolbox open, all on one set of tires. |

I have an answer from Anze Suspension :
Hello xx My name is xx and I work for Multimatic dealing with a lot of these requests. I unfortunately have bad news for you… Due to how these dampers were designed, the top cover is crimped to the body, so it is unable to be taken apart without destroying the damper. This unfortunately means there is no way to rebuild them without ruining the damper. Sorry for the bad news, if it were up to me there would be some sort of solution but at the moment there isn’t really one. Sorry again for the bad news, please let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks! So I guess it's clear they can't be rebuilt... Too bad. Thanks everyone for the input

On another note, it's been known that these are not rebuildable for a while. Have you been living under a rock?

![]() I agree with the boneheaded move by Multimatic, but I bet they probably have bigger business then what the Camaro community is offering them. ![]() Quote:
Just wait until SoCal drives his around the block for testing and buy those
