Interesting to see the price change for a 2SS over the years. MSRP for mine was $54,355

Thank you for this chart. I think the guy above posted what he paid, not his msrp. Those 2023 - 2024 increases were unnecessarily high. If the 2023 increase didn’t happen I would probably be in a ZL1. A 6k price increase without increasing performance throughout 9 model years is kinda BS imo

The most recent price increases have nothing to do with contents, but I think we all knew that already.

I noticed with buying mine used that the options didn’t really seem to be factored into the price at all relative to other 2SS manual models for sale with similar year and miles (ie a 2020 2SS with no options and one with $11k options were about the same price used, assuming neither is a 1LE). It’s really the official 1LE option that seems to hold its value more. The a la cart options don’t seem to as much. Last edited by Navigator; 11-04-2025 at 07:04 PM. |

And yes, adding a bunch of random options doesn't add much value to the vehicle. A dealer will pay a little bit extra if it's an automatic and if it has a sunroof. Things like footwell lighting, graphics packages, sport pedals, etc don't hold value.

I spec'd a 2024 2SS specifically for my needs (occasional HPDE weekends) you can see the codes in my sig.
I didn't like the Recaro seats, the wrapped hood and I was also interested in keeping down the amount of tech I'd have to worry about failing in the future. It would have been cheaper to get a 1LE, yes, but the seat was an out of the box deal breaker for me and the availability of allocation wasn't guaranteed either, if was willing to swap seats. I bought some 1LE wheels when I took delivery and never looked back.

They could added the one of the $2k+ wheel options and didn't, surprising because it seems to have everything else added in.

GM could have offered more customizability with the 1LE package and especially the ZL1, but they decided against it. Having seen how the factory customized each Camaro on the assembly line, it would've been very easy to let people opt for leather or cloth seats or the non-alcantara steering wheels and door cards, or not getting the hood wrap etc., and it seems they could've scored quite a few more sales.
I, for example, would've bought a ZL1 if they had allowed me to make a few configuration changes, but instead of paying $20K more to GM, I spent this money (and then some) with Jannetty Racing. GM's loss entirely, because had I gotten a ZL1, I probably would've stayed put and not upgraded the car for quite a while. Oh, and if they had refrained from their usual shenanigans we called out here a million times, the latest two vehicles in our family probably wouldn't be a Nissan and a Mazda. Peanuts to GM, I know, but I also know I'm not the only one.

The only part of the 1LE I was apprehensive about was the satin wrapped hood. I really didn't like it to start, but honestly it's grown on me.. a lot. My original plan was to remove it once it started to wear a bit, but I think now if it did fail I would end up getting it wrapped with a high quality replacement.
Seat seems fine to me, but I probably don't know what a real nice seat actually feels like ![]() I can totally see why people wouldn't want the Alcantara, however. While it feels nice, I have seen what they can become.. The dealer had a used 1LE with only 30,000 KM on it and it was GROSS. Thankfully I am anal enough to keep it clean, but I honestly can't see very many people dealing with the maintenance it requires. |

Maybe some people really wanted the 1LE options but didn’t want the alcantara. Seems like Chevy should have made the 1LE a standalone model above the SS and below the ZL1 and then let you pick your interior with it. |
