Why would they bring back a car that was just cancelled in the same form? I present the 2023 Chevrolet Bolt EUV, which was cancelled. And the 2027 Chevrolet Bolt that was just revealed last weak.
I'd be a little surprised if they did a Chevy SS reboot honestly.

I still hate the idea of moving a nameplate around regardless.

Could a Gen 7 Still Happen?

I just came across this a little while ago, GM posted four images on their Instagram page, one showing a render of what looks to be a possible Gen 7 Camaro. Front engine for sure, and the greenhouse is what caught my eye in particular, it's unmistakably Camaro. Also, the pictures behind it seem to show older Camaros.

I've been missing my Gen 6 a lot lately, love the Quadrifoglio, but it's just not the same.

Thoughts?

If this was already posted, please delete, but I didn't see anything on this.

I posted on this subject but a different article that makes some good points for a bit of hope of a Gen 7.

As for the drawing, when is the last time anyone saw concept art with realistic sized rims and tires?

If the replacement looks like the new Mustang, keep it...

I can't remember to be honest. They all seem large and I guess when they came out with the recent Escalade IQ designers looked at going larger than the 24" rims that come with it.

That concept looks too blocky. Like they felt the car needed to just look muscular. The largest challenge if the Camaro makes a return will be the styling and that concept isn't doing it for me. If Chevy does introduce a four door car with that 6.6L V8 and manual option, as has been rumoured, I hope they call it Chevelle. Two door call it a Camaro.

It's so funny when I read things like this. It's like you think all CEOs are like Steve Jobs running Apple and all the ideas come from the CEO. LOL, GM and no other OEM other than Tesla run that way. Her job is to make the stock holders happy and she has done that VERY well.

It would be interesting to hear what idiotic ideas you think actually came from her. Yes, she approved the end of the Camaro, but from a business perspective.

Maybe you think we should get another SSR like the one Rick Wagoner drove to completion. Thaaaat was an awesome CEO move right there.

The C7 was kind of more a result of the government.

When I was working in AVDC, they had toned the C7 down to a C6.2 as everyone figured the government wouldn't like a new Corvette. The head of AVDC told me he was in a meeting where the Government folks asked, "But don't you make a lot of money on Corvettes?" "ummmmmmmm yes", was the answer. "So why aren't you doing a new one". "Got it. New one on the way"

Prior to the bankruptcy, the C7 was a mid engine car. Of course, the DCTs sucked then and GM had put a torque converter in the car that made it bigger and heavier so maybe the bankruptcy had at least the ability to kill off that bad idea.

Just to illustrate my point, here is a page from said book with a bunch of similar sketches from 2015. Several of them look almost exactly like what GMA just posted... nothing to see here I'm afraid.

I wouldn't say it's bogus, just highly unlikely. I would be at the head of the line should they decide to make the Gen 7 though.

I'm wondering if it was some "underling" threw the pictures up hoping to spark interest in the public so they bug the executives on any updates on bringing the Camaro back. Maybe figuring if enough people hounded them enough they'd at least have another conversation about it.
