How about a faulty relay? I think it’s the one that controls the hazards as well.

Are you sure you have stock tails?

They are smoked. Dunno if aftermarket or OG.

I also had this kind of problem on a BMW E92.
The W16W type incandescent bulbs are just plugged in and over time and with humidity corrosion forms on the small legs of the bulb and the contact was random.
I had to unplug the bulb, clean the bulb base and spread the bulb legs a little to ensure good contact again.

^^^ this.

The beautiful OEM smoked tails first came with the 2018 ZL1 1LE, then they were made available as a separate upgrade package in late 2017 IIRC.

Somewhat poignantly, I feel like a historian of the 6th gen with these responses I'm forced to type... sucks that GM killed the Camaro again.

I have no idea if 2016 Camaros came with LED or incandescent tail lights. That said, if they have incandescent bulbs, you could have a broken filament that is making intermittent contact, kind just swaying in the breeze. I have encountered this before with other cars. If you car has incandescent tail lamps, pull each bulb out and inspect the filament. If one is flapping around it will be obvious, just replace the bulb.

Looks like led’s. The turn signals are a yellow strip on the top of the taillight that goes right to left for the left turn and left to right for the right turn. Looking at them outside the car and you can’t tell when it does a double blink.

This is a problem for next week. Leaving town tomorrow for a few days. Thanks for all the input folks.

Ooh, those are definitely aftermarket taillights. Several of those products (Vland, for example) are known to have hyperflashing or occasional hyperflashing problems, similar to yours, along with battery drain issues.

The real solution is to either revert to the stock taillights, or get a pair of GM smoked taillights (unfortunately they're likely unobtainium at this point).

Here’s what I’ve found so far. The taillights are vland brand https://www.vlandus.com/collections/...lamps-assembly. Both taillights have a 50w resister on them. I found this weird connector on the third brake light that confirmed my thoughts that it feeds power to the rear fender marker LEDs. Also noticed the license plate lights are also LED.

I did add a couple of 0ga ground straps, one from the NEG jump post to block and one from battery to a stud in the trunk. First time I’ve felt the transmission shift like it knew what the hell it was doing but it’s probably just in my head. Also the first cold start of the day was instantaneous instead of long.

Also found parts of the battery hold down stashed behind the new battery the dealer installed. Lazy bastards.

The OEM smoked tails that you can buy directly from vendors on the interweb don't make any sort of random or rapid blinking. I bought a set of GMs for my old 2018 and they were a plug and play (obviously since their GM lol) and they worked flawlessly without any funky blinking or stuttering.

Size: 165.9 KBJust an update but swapped the aftermarket with some factory taillights and eliminated the random blink and the random red wires. They ended up going to the third brake light and also the main plug. Not certain wtf for but it’s gone and I’m happy and the car still looks great in my opinion.
