I was thinking what if the dipstick are different lengths? Then it made me think what if i go to a camaro meet and ask some of the guys to pull out their dipsticks so we can measure them.

Interesting thought. Although, you might get punched if you ask them to whip it out to compare lengths

All this talk of oil levels reminded me.. Haven't driven it today, so now doing the 15 minute procedure to check mine, as I changed the oil a couple weeks ago. I always like to check levels right after the change, and also a week or two after the change. I dunno, just makes me feel better I guess.

Depending on complexity of the system, I would suspect there may be small air pockets left in things like oil cooler after draining the oil. Plus the filter needs to saturate. Might account for 1/2 qt change in level.
