Yep, very little amps is needed, just literally a "trickle". Not sure where these giant battery chargers come from for this purpose.

Not an electrical minded person, can someone please tell me what the amperage (assuming amperage anyway) numbers signify on the connection terminals (see 2nd atch-440)? Should only certain type devices be connected to a particularly rated terminal? Same with the terminals on the engine compartment fuse box, just don’t know why the different ratings. TIA

Those are maximum ratings for those terminals. For example, you should should not use the 100A terminal for anything drawing more than 100 amps.
A device like a trickle charger will draw a few amps at most, and can be connected to any of the terminals. The 200A terminal is a safe bet as shown in the photo.
You do want to disconnect the negative terminal on that battery before messing with the positive side, to prevent any accidents caused by tools touching bare metal.
If you are not comfortable with electrical stuff, the underhood terminals are what I would suggest using.

I am wanting to see how I can run the wire so it is not between the seal and the trunk.
So far, it has not seemed to show signs of imprinting on the seal.
Trunk can fully close.
Site turned my photos for some reason, they were 90° to the right when taken and submitted.

Assuming you always park the car inside while trickle charging, I would leave the trunk ajar.
I would not risk deforming that trunk seal one bit. Too many horror stories here of water in the trunk.

Just stored my car for the winter this past weekend. As always, I connect my NOCO maintainer to the under-hood posts. I snake the cable through the plastic slots in the front, therefore I can shut the hood fully. Battery is always 100% good to go in the Spring. Personally, I wouldn't mess with hooking it up in the trunk directly to the battery.

I no longer daily my car, so I ordered the Noco Genius2 yesterday. I'll be using the posts under the hood. Seems so much easier that way

It is in the shop, covered and on dollies during the winter.
It's a weekend car.
This will be winter #2.
I will look for a way to make the install less temporary and not on/over the seal.
I have some OCD/ADHD tendencies when it comes to things like this, the more factory or better it appears, the better I feel.

Under the hood may be the way it ends up, but for now this is the way it is.

FWIW I am personally going on winter #3 with storing my car. Typically stored from Halloween to middle/end of May each year. The last 2 I've went to the battery in the trunk, disconnected the negative cable bagged it, put the maintainer/trickle on the negative battery post and on positive cable(still attached to battery post) put a super soft fleece blanket over the seal and ran the cable though the side of the trunk/blanket and have not pinched the cable or ruined the seal.. Everyone has their ways, just telling what I do and haven't had any issues with anything(Trunk seal, trickle cable, battery, etc) or reconnecting in the spring(also no issues). Mine too is a NON daily...in fact I've only put 80 miles on it this season and have 1,040 total on the odometer since I got it new September of 2022.

Ironically enough I keep my car stored over the summer, too hot in central Texas especially being a ‘vert. Trickled in the trunk with the light removed.

Trickle charge under the hood. I run the power cord down the back of the engine bay. Close the hood and cover it for the winter. Did this the last three years and no issues.

Hey guys, new here and in South Dakota. In the process of picking up a maintainer for my car. I'm browsing the Battery Tender website and they have a plug that goes into the OBDII connection inside the car. I guess in newer cars (not sure how new) can charge the battery through that connection. Has anyone seen this? Does that seem like a safe option? I have never had to store a car before, just motorcycles.
