So... Tony really wanted to get me the V3 Throttle Body as soon as possible, he sent me a "plain blade" V3 TB to use for now and said he would swap it out at his cost when the new logo'd blades came in! (AWESOME Customer Service!)...
I installed it this evening but since I had a cocktail or two (or three) while installing, didn't get to drive it (tomorrow!)... Install is literally 4 10mm bolts on the TB and likely an 8mm clamp on the intake tube... 15 minutes max... Ok, it doesn't even take 15 minutes and certainly not 3 cocktails, but I may have spent a bit time in the garage enjoying looking at my ride... ![]() ![]() I've had a LOT of interactions with Tony over the past couple weeks, the guy is super cool, he is the real deal and is very passionate about his product... And my "Bullshit Meter" is always set at 11, so I'm in tune... I certainly wouldn't hesitate to buy anything from him as he legitimately backs up everything with a 30 day, no questions asked, return policy... And honestly, if you were a bit outside that, I get the feeling he would do whatever he needs to "make it right", He is a solid dude, he is far more worried about doing the right thing and keeping his reputation than making a quick buck (I've see far too many of those!) So, on to the install... OEM Throttle Body with the huge ridges and other turbulence creating obstructions... (Thick center bar)... ![]() Tony Mamo's Ported Throttle Body... Sleek and smooth with all the curves in all the right places... (Just ask my wife, she knows I love curves!)![]() OEM throttle body at idle position... ![]() Tony Mamo's Ported Throttle Body at idle position (not sure I got the exact angle, but holding them side by side they appeared identical... However, I didn't have a hand free for the camera to hold them both at the same time, but when I did, they appeared identical!) ![]() ![]() Tony has stated that he does NOT port any of the area where the throttle plate sits (at idle), so at idle his TB is identical to the OEM un-ported TB, so no worries about "headers glowing red or negative timing"... I think the above image proves that out pretty well... Oh, and the part (Throttle Body) is "Genuine GM" so no worry about warranty... A dealer will NEVER realize this has been "ported"... ![]() ![]() Love the quality and even more so, the Customer Service, can't wait to drive it and see what it offers... Update coming soon, but so far, super impressed with Tony and his product!

Ok, had a chance to take it for a short ride today, now admittedly, I don't drive my car a lot, honestly, hardly at all (2,000 miles per year), so small changes are likely to go unnoticed by me (however, I did take it out yesterday with the stock Throttle Body to hopefully try to get some kind of "baseline"), but today the throttle response did seem better and quite a bit more "linear"... And everyone's favorite "Butt Dyno" did seem to feel a bit more spritely... I guess you could say the car "felt" lighter and I did notice some slight tire slippage at 40+ Mph that I don't really feel like I noticed before (I'm running summer only, 305/30's out back and when I put them on I thought "Damn these things 'HOOK'", now I'm getting some "slippage", it made me smile!)...
The one thing that was definitely there (new), at certain heavier throttle settings was a bit of intake whine/whistle, almost a little bit like very mild supercharger whine... I had the windows open and noticed it, definitely not annoying in any way, but did catch my attention (took a few accelerations to be sure it was my car and not something else)... I wonder if that abrupt ridge on the OEM intake was to create enough turbulence to quiet the airflow and get rid of the whistle/whine?? Just spitballing there, but it is a difference... But either way, I liked the "howl" of the intake air, sounded good to me! Smiled again! Overall, very pleased with the improved throttle response, driveability, added "Butt Dyno power"... I didn't do any timed 0-60 pulls before and after, but it wouldn't surprise me if this knocked 0.1 seconds off the 0-60 time... I do have the GM Performance Cold Air Intake installed as well, which may have increased the sound of any intake air sounds... (plus I have my snow deflector removed as well, freeing up the airflow)... With the absolutely great customer support from Tony, the nice improvements in throttle response and "Butt Dyno Power" and the absolute lack of any CEL or codes being thrown, I would certainly consider this TB over any with a big notch that allows unregulated air at idle, I just can't figure out how all that extra air is dealt with without the car idling at 1,500+ RPM, except pull timing way back to calm things down, heating things up... I'm no engine tuning expert... But my brain can't wrap around a lot of excess, unregulated airflow being a good thing at idle, but I don't know... If you are looking for a ported Throttle Body to get more & smoother airflow, that operates completely "Stock" at idle but lets a lot more airflow through wide open, I would definitely consider Tony Mamo's V3 Ported TB, the best thing is, it is an OEM part, so warranty? No Problem, ECM? No Problem, Codes? No Problem... It just works... And the "Dead Spot" in acceleration was gone... Which to me, was always a bit annoying... I always felt there was a bit of a "bog" if you hit it too hard from the dig... This thing just wanted to GO! (Smile #3!) Hey "Mr. BRZ with the big coffee can muffler" did you enjoy the taillights in the distance??? First "Mod" I have done in about 2 years, was fun to get out there and wrench on the car a bit (admittedly, a SUPER easy "Mod", only took 15 minutes, but was still fun)... That's what I bought this car for... It was good to be reminded of it... I don't endorse many people, honestly, practically none at all, but Tony is legit (spent well over a hour on the phone with him during multiple calls), he stands by and is very passionate about his product, and I like that... Far better than places that sell you something and then you can never get a hold of them again... That isn't the case here...

Ya'll may have sold me on my firsts practical performance mod. I still owe money on the car, but based on how stock this looks, I don't think I'll have any issues. I do all my own maintenance anyways.
I wish I could have gotten the GM Performance Air Intake, but they removed it as an option when ordering the car. Haven't had the drive to get the comparable CAI model yet, just because I have been holding out for the potential to find a GM themed one. Which, to my surprise, don't appear on the used market whenever I happen to take a look. Furthermore, 2SSCapt, I love your wheels, they match your ride quite well. Not sure how the gunmetal would look on my Riverside Blue. Are those aftermarket or were they an option? I may look into a set one of these days. Anyways, maybe I'll get myself an early Christmas present, thanks for providing this Tony.

Quick update on the new TB's guys!
So I was having delays occasionally due to not having the correct machined blades (LT1 versus LT4) so seeing at they start from the same OEM TB, I decided to change the logo on all the LT1 /LT4 products to LTx to help streamline the operation (some of my customers were having to wait because I had a ported LT1 unit sold but only had plain or LT4 blades in stock and visa versa) Anyway....here is a pic of the new and improved V3 model with the LTx engraving (LTx) Same fully CNC ported high flow design.....just a slightly different logo on the machined blade. This TB's move 23% more air than an OEM TB.....that's a huge increase. That's the equivalent flow of a 97 mm blade if the OEM TB shape was retained (A 97mm blade has 23% larger cross sectional area than the OEM 87mm blade). These two photos below will allow you to really SEE the difference.....you don't have to be an expert in airflow or fluid dynamics to see the obvious huge gains in the new V3 ported TB versus stock out of the box GM. I actually have a small supply in stock for anyone interested in purchasing one. Also I offer a 30 day money back.....if your running a stock unit now or running one of my competitor's product I encourage you to try one of mine. Its a 10 minute install guys....anyone of you reading this is capable of installing one (call me if you need any pointers). You guys are going to love it but in the event you don't think it was worth the money you spent send it back for a full refund. If you want to purchase one just go on my website and order the version your looking for (LT1 or LT4).....you will be receiving exactly what's pictured above with the LTx logo....actually if you order an LT4 you may get the V3 with the LT4 logo till they run out....I have about 8 or 10 of those blades left.....all the LT1 units will ship with an LTx blade Call, email, or text me if you have any questions! Cheers, Tony (661)714-1317 tony@mamomotorsports.com |

Guys,
Just sharing some recent feedback on my LT1/LT2 unit (same one you would be purchasing). This is a direct copy and paste from an email I received earlier today Cant stress enough how good this upgrade is.....especially factoring in the modest cost and and ease of install !! ![]() --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Tony, I received and installed my TB and all I can say is WOW, what a difference. The drivability is so improved, no more flat spot when I let out the clutch. Thanks for a great product, well worth the money. John |

Does this offer a noticeable improvement to throttle response when rev-matching downshifts? That's where I notice throttle sluggishness the most.

You have 30 days....if you don't fall in love with it send it back but I assure you that's not how this is going to play out. Biggest regret is not installing it sooner I will prep you though that I just ran out of stock but placing an order now will get you in line faster once I finish the few dozen I have moving though the shop currently. I usually sell three or four LT4 TB's to every one LT1....I think lately its almost the opposite so my LT1 supply got cleared out faster than I anticipated. I have plenty of LT4 and Lt6 units in stock. Anyway Im building alot more of them now to keep up with increased demand moving forward. Thanks Guys....I know some of them being sold are you guys on this forum Regards, Tony |

I got mine last week. Car is away for winter but I installed it and I did notice the dead spot on throttle tip in is gone. And it just overall felt different too, in a good way. Gonna have to wait till spring though to get it a full send!
