I have never had to go over 10.25 quarts to hit full. I change mine every two tracks days like recommended and just did my 4th change of the year. Even doing it myself it's $125 bucks and I use only Dex Mobil One 0w40.

$180 Canadian for Mobil1 Supercar 0w-40 and OEM filter. I'll be doing my 2nd one this year soon as I actually hit my mileage before the end of the season. (~5k KM intervals)

I just did mine a couple weekends ago and it took 11 qts for the dipstick to register in the hash marks towards the top.

I did 10qts, checked the stick, started it and leak checked it, added 1/2qt, then took it for a drive the next day, let it sit and checked it and added the remainder of the qt for a total of 11qts.

I did not measure it out, but then again I have no idea who did it before and if it was accurate, it is new to me.

12qts M1 0W-40 SC from Amazon = $62.50 x2
Wix filter = $13.44
Total = $138.44 before tax

I have not contacted a dealer, but on their website the oil change price for 8qt Mobil 1 is $199USD.

Its crazy, some of you guys get DIY prices at your dealers and some of you guys are paying double that at your dealers.

It seems like the labor rate is a big factor between the prices tho. My guess is some dealers set oil changes on its own price vs others are roughly. .5 to .7 hrs at their shop rate.

For me it’s parts prices. They charge $17 a quart for M1 super car 0w-40. Checked 2 different dealers near me. Maybe I should check a 3rd but I don’t see it being different. I think it’s very dependent on what part of the country you’re in.

One thing I’ll say is I always make sure to tell the dealer I want supercar. Those of you paying less could be getting the ac-Delco dexos oil.

Crazy some of the prices you guys are paying.

I've never paid more than about $75 for 10 quarts of M1 ESP and a PF64 filter. This is at Auto Zone during their oil+filter deals, which always seem to be running.

Yes, I'm paranoid and have trust issues but I question if the reasonably priced changes that people are getting at dealerships are receiving the quality of the oil they believe they are getting. I'd go so far as to say that no one knows exactly what you're getting, unless you buy it yourself and then pour it in yourself. But I've never had my oil changed for me.

But when the day comes, I'm buying the oil and taking it to the shop and gonna wait for it- while looking around just to be sure-LOL. But I got issues, like I said.
BTW- Motul Xcess clean is Dexos 2 approved too.

I always hear about this and can’t seem to find an Autozone that actually charges this. It’s always $11.99/qt….

Always do your own oil changes, they are VERY easy and at least you will know they are done right, and that you are getting the proper quality AND quantity of oil... I just did the oil change today in my Daughter's Kia Seltos, it cost me $31 and about an hour (cuz I let it drain a LONG time to get all the garbage out)... $25.50 for 5qts of Pennzoil Platinum Ultimate 0W20 and about $5.50 for a Hyundai/Kia 26300-35505 Oil filter (I buy them 10 at a time on Amazon because the family has 4 cars that use them)...

It has to be the API-SP certified version, there is still alot of API-SN still in circulation.

Pennzoil Platinum 5w-30 works great in my V6. Very little oil gets in the intake since using it. Love an oil thread

I saw M1 FS 0W-40 (SP-rated) at Walmart in the 5 gallon jugs last weekend. So happy there's a readily available and reasonably priced option that meets MFG specs now.
