![]() I know THPSI makes a lid, too, but I think I saw some custom powder coating DSX showed that mimicked the OEM style. I have to look at that and see if I can post a link. It was pretty nice looking. The lid testing is interesting, because there ARE tests out there that show improvements, going from the shorter-early lid ('Vettes and V3s) to the taller ZL1 (post-'17), and a couple aftermarket ones, too. All validated on dynos'. It seems like the more aggressive the combination, the more it can help improve over the OEM lids, but temperatures are a huge factor, too, since it doesn't take many hits for the 1.7 to get into heat soak. It'd be cool to see data logging on the porting/crossovers/etc to see if there are any improvements. The crossover elimination kit Gabe sells is one that seems to me, could, be the most beneficial as it keeps the inlet/outlets separate, so you're not pre-heating the inlet (if that matters - I would think it probably does).

![]() It's easy to pass inspections if you know what their criteria is and what they are looking for. If you are capable of doing a build which satisfies both of those things, the rest falls right into line. If I knew what they are looking for out there in Spain where the OP is at, I could make him a full build and he'd still pass, but for him, I think a nice billet stealth lid is an excellent starting point without overstating the "hey look at me, I'm modified!" factor.

Plus, in order for them to fail him for having a cam in the car, they would have to be able to prove that there is even one in there which is different from OE in the first place, which without tearing the engine down and using very expensive measuring devices to confirm specs and the profile of the cam, they are not going to do for obvious reasons. Your potential concern points are dwindling. Your move.

I'm only asking out of curiosity, but what about the tune?... e.g. HPFP parameters, injectors, E85.
And - what about the tune in Spain? Do they look into that, too, or are they just doing a visual? I would have thought CARB-legal-type-stuff would be okay in instances like that, but I wouldn't know for certain. Having an understanding of some of the requirements over there might be helpful in our comments being closer to the topic.

I see why no one in the forum likes you or talks to you like a decent human being.
