I have the CSP 2" LTH (made by Kooks) and went with the Jet Hot 2500 coating. Melt that main wire harness and you'll pay way more than the coating trying to trouble shoot the issue and fix it. Buy once, cry once. Not worth the risk of putting headers on without some kind of coating.

Are you saying even after relocating the harness you can still burn it? Did you relocate yours?

I'm very interested to know the same question that Dynamical is asking. Did you melt the harness even after getting your headers coated?

No....he's saying coat them so you don't have to worry about it...either way moving the harness is a must imo....

I assume you moved thr harness in yours as well?
I'm gonna have to look into this before I drop the car off.

I know this thread is a couple months old, but does anyone have a picture of the wiring harness you guys are referencing? Also how much does it cost to add the coating?

I got you, bro. Red arrows point to the large harness that I had already heat taped and pushed back toward the strut tower, and also the hard brake line that I heat taped for good measure. The brake line was closer to the header than the wire harness. The harness sits on the frame rail, but tends to push toward the header. Mine was not too bad, so I re-bent it a little and ensured that it was staying put. Some people have put a clip on it, or put it on the other side of the coolant reservoir.

Great question on the cost... I paid around $800 to coat my entire system from header to axle but was not happy with the finish / performance, so I decided to wrap mine also. Early testing looks promising, more data to follow...

Would love to know what others have paid for the JetHot...

For your normal bolt on street car, uncoated QUALITY stainless steel headers is a non issue. If you start making 900+ wheel HP and race the car at the track...you want to start considering having headers coated.

Out of all of the headers we've installed, only a handful were coated. Never had an issue on any of the cars over many years, coated or uncoated.

My wrap is effective, but I've never been comfortable with the appearance, so I'm sending them to Jet Hot for a Classic Polish coating

This tracks with what the shop said that will be doing my Kooks headers. Said out of all of the headers they've installed they've never had a car return because it burned up that wiring harness. Or any harness for that matter. Knowing how I am though, I do plan on moving those wiring looms away from the headers and adding some extra heat tape. Better safe than sorry.

I don't think Jason (ZL1Atlanta) has his monster diameter headers coated for what it's worth.
