Chevrolet screwed me repeatedly and I was left with a bad taste in my mouth.
We all spent 60-80k for these cars. probably more than half of the early years will grenade if the pump isnt changed. some of the newer ones will also. I know of a 22' ZL1 with a failed pump. Fact is, its a shit design. GM knew about it and its also mentioned repeatedly across all camaro forums I've seen, which probably only accounts for maybe 15-20%? of the ZL1 vehicles sold. They should be hammered. But, we are the ones who will pay through the nose to fix thier f*ck up then line up for the next raping.

What is this oil pump failure you speak of? I'm unfamiliar. Unrelated, check out this picture I took a few weeks ago.

In my opinion I don’t care what year it is I would change the oil pump to a katech. I just read about a 2023 that failed. They are essentially the same pump with updated materials. They are still prone to failure. Regardless of this poll most owners are not on this forum. For around 4K you can make your car bulletproof with a upgraded pump or end up like this poor guy that will have to spend thousands of dollars to repair.

It's hard for me to imagine that GM is liable for a part failure in an eight-year-old auto.

Long first post says the pump failed while under warranty but they said drive the shit out of it. Then when the motor blows up they say f-you

Where did you land? Did you build it with a new motor on your own dime?

dealership said they would not touch it unless they were swapping in a crate motor. chevy said they could pay 20% of it. I was like Fu, you need to pay for all of it. they said but you tracked the car. I contacted a huge amoutn of legal firms, and not a single one would do anything. at that poijnt I gave up. I had wrath rebuild it with a cam. All in it ended up costing me about 20k, so I have a camaro that cost me over 100k before 20k miles.
