It's completely avoidable, but it's still a pain in the ass.
I don't avoid it, that's my point. It just doesn't kick in unless you REALLY go easy on it! I drive it harder than my daily Silverado, but I still wouldn't say I'm hard on it. I dunno. Anyhow, awesome pic!!!!

The problem I had was with making turns from a stoplight. It would always force me into 4th and it's just awkward. I like to be in control. Installed one in my 4th gen back in the day too.

I hear ya, but there's still times, even if far and few between, and it just bugs me, lol.

Thanks!

Replaced the A/C condenser. What a rodeo that was! I was thinking maybe a couple hours. 😆

Put 100 psi of nitrogen into the system and went hunting with soap & water. Tiny pinhole from what I am guessing was a small rock.

Damn, props on the care of removal. I’d be sweating just thinking about damaging the matte paint

I'm sure there is an easier way. I figured just tip the rad towards the engine and pull it out. Nope! I really couldn't find a "how to" video for pulling the condenser on a 6th gen so I just started pulling things off until it came out. Finally got it out and swapped with no left over parts. Put a 150 PSI nitrogen charge in it for an hour, no leaks, so tossed in an ounce of PAG46 oil and put it under vacuum for half an hour. All my A/C stuff is for R134a, not R1234yf, so I bought a couple of the small R1234yf 425 gram cans from the parts department. It's cold now, have a 4000 km road trip all next week. Hopefully it's still blowing cold when I get back.

Mine rarely did it but when it did it was at an awkward time where 4th gear is not where you want to be.

I didn't do anything but it decided to do something to my wallet. Had no oil pressure warning right after I pulled into my driveway and put it in park. I assume it's a bad oil pump which seems kind of common for earlier years. Hopefully no engine damage as it was only running for max 10-15 seconds before I shut it off. I'll be upgrading it to the Katech one now.

I'm very partial to the SS 1LE wheel style but those are some great aftermarket wheels, what are they? What size(s) did you go with? I love the color of them...
