i didnt do any of that when i had my LT1 and my insurance never went up and i had onstar activated for the remote start and internet. sadly the onstar dont work on my 22 2SS but have plans to have it fixed because i liked the service

You can find this in the infotainment menu for Settings, System, Privacy, Types. That's where I saw the Motion privacy settings and disabled it.

I then went back to the Privacy menu and saw "Apps" selection. That brings up a list of vehicles apps and allows you to adjust privacy settings for each. I disabled all privacy permissions for MyBrand.

Passing along word in case this is something you want to disable. It probably isn't a bad idea to browse through all of the settings under the Privacy menu if you haven't done so recently.

I've had the BCM update on my car. I don't see "MyBrand" anywhere in the infotainment. If I go to: Settings>System>Privacy, the only thing listed is "location services," which can be turned off or on.

MyBrand includes the MyChevrolet, MyBuick, MyGMC, and MyCadillac applications. I have this setting as well. When I tried to disable it, I got an error message that warned me that some features of my infotainment system may not work if I disable it. I left it enabled for now.

I got the same warning message and did a quick web search, saw the tie to the My Chevrolet app (which was previously ID'ed as connected to the infamous insurance tracking) and said "oh heck no" to motion driving behavior.

Did the ~70 mile round-trip commute Friday and had no issues whatsoever with normal vehicle operations.

I don't have any of the GM apps on my phone. Maybe that's why I don't see MyBrand where described in the car s infotainment settings.

Lexisnexis just reported on losing personal details of over 360k people. This is who gm sold your onstar data to who then sold it to insurance companies.

Unreal but no surprise. This is why people don’t want their personal data mined (never mind sold) by automakers to begin with.

I contacted LexisNexis to purge my info from their system a few months ago. I finally got confirmation they did and wouldn't you know it, my insurance went down $100 a month.
