so I did some work myself, I looked up a modified mounting holes LT5 TB and port out the holes myself with a hand drill and 5 hours of time lol. The LT5 TB can be mounted on the LT2 IM without an adapter plate, however, the lip/o-ring grove is blocking the blade once its tightened... looking to port out the snout soon to see how it turns out

Does your lt5 TB have a smooth connection with the IM snout? My ported IM snout is way bigger than the TB opening and it tapers at the connection point

Your snout is over ported for the 95mm tb. As previously mentioned, I went with the 87 to 95mm adaptor and had my intake ported to 93mm. Manifold, adaptor and TB are all matched with smooth edges.
Tuning was a breeze and she pulls noticeably harder and higher into the rpm range.

do you by chance have a picture of the TB and IM connection point?

I have this pic of the adaptor to intake. The TB to adaptor is just as smooth. Great port matching job.

Where The adapter connects the snout is smooth? It doesn’t taper down?

Yes, it is tapered but smooth. You're going to drive yourself crazy by over thinking it so much. My setup works. I would recommend you to go the same route, you won't be disappointed

I thought the snout should be perfectly align with the TB housing, which is the port matching supposed to be? so the bottom of your adapter does taper down to the IM snout? I thought taper would create some turbulence. I attached a picture from Soler adapter, it is different size, but I thought it should be the same theory?

What you want to avoid is any stepping. There is really no way to port it without a taper.

Doesn't Katech offer a 95mm to 95mm straight adapter? Why would there be a step if the inlet and TB are both 95mm? If anything, the 95 to 87 adapter would create turbulence. Unless you've taken that tapered adapter and port matched it to the inlet as well?

I am curious on what gains are left on the table by *not* porting the inlet and just using a 95mm to 87mm adapter. You still get a jump in cross sectional gain jumping from a 87mm TB to a 95mm TB, even if the snout is 87mm. At minimum throttle response will be much improved.

Yes, they do make a straight 95 to 95 TB adaptor but I chose not to elongate the TB holes. I thought the ported 87 to 95 mm adaptor would create a smoother taper. I can confirm that the results are undeniably positive. Before making my decision, I too was conflicted as to which way to go, but my tuner reassured me, as he has tuned the very same setup many times. In the end, I'm glad I took his advice.

Throttle body response is so much better. The car pulls much better bottom to top. The porting has everything to do with it

So your adapter *is* port matched to the inlet? Not the off the shelf 95 to 87 anymore.

ICT has 2 types of adapter 95 to 87 and 95 to 95. I bought both. The 95mm straight adapter basically have the same size of opening as the TB housing. if the IM snout has been to ported bigger than the 95mm opening, I guess the adapter is mainly just for mounting purpose.

I first bought a 95mm straight adapter then realized it’s oversized and bought a 95 to 87 adapter
