One person on a Facebook group said the bcm recall was a WiFi fix. No idea what that had to do with security.I guess that’s a huge problem vs car thefts ..lol

Oh, they swapped them. Refused to let them 'fix it' since they were dumb enough to have done it in the first place...

Here's the good news... The car can easily handle the wider wheels up front without an issue.

So the factory 9.5"/ 39 offset SS rims with 275's clear everything in the front ? I was thinking I would need a 15mm spacer to run the factory rear wheel set-up in the front.

They clear fine. No rubbing anywhere at all.

That's insanity (face palm)
At least, this counts as R+ D

Got my official recall in the mail today. The first line reads...

"Your 2023 Chevrolet Camaro is receiving an important vehicle security enhancement."

(emphasis mine)

Keep in mind the BCM update is not an actual recall it’s a customer satisfaction program update. It expires 3/21/28. Recalls don’t expire.

Correct, sounds like it makes the OBD-II Keyfob delete/reprogram much more difficult and time consuming... Someone who is a locksmith posted it took them over 12 minutes to delete and reprogram FOBs after the update where before the thieves were doing it in less than 60 seconds and it sounds like you need a much more expensive scan tool to do it...

12 minutes is better than 60 seconds, but it won't prevent nighttime or business hours snatches...

Correct, but I believe he was using a much more expensive scan tool (several thousands of dollars) vs. the $400 dollar types that the thieves have been using... Perhaps the cheaper scan tools won't be able to program the fobs at all...

Definitely better than nothing, but I'll still be parking where I can see it when I take the car out... Thankfully mine isn't a daily driver so I only take it specific places, but I feel for those of you guys that have to be worried all the time. Really a bummer that this is the state of things.

I posted this in the Texas sub forum but if this did increase the time for programming or something to delay attacks, it could have prevented this theft and others I’m sure
