I will say this, the visibility changing lanes has never bothered me. If your mirrors are setup correctly, it's fine.

The small back window is my biggest gripe, and especially how close it lies to the top of the seats by the speakers. It's a bear to clean.

I actually wonder if I could have been dissuaded if I had been more aware of these horrible defects.
LOL you can get golf clubs in the trunk of a C8 (and C7, C6 and C5) and obviously a Corvette, the only GM sports car has no rear seat and up to the C8 (which has a camera to provide a good rear view in the rear view mirror) had decent rear visibility. But I’ve had people in this discussion compare their Camaro visibility to a Lamborghini

Camaro died because it was designed for a very small customer base, Gen5 Camaro buyers. And in that segment a lot of people were looking for a different car than the Gen6 was designed to be. Sad, yes, but GM knew what they did and in the end that was a mistake. GM did not learn from why the Gen4 died.

But hey! At least we get to watch the Mustang die when it has zero competition in the segment.

It’s a quickly dying segment. And GM clearly had the best performing car in that segment. It was just the worst coupe in that segment.

The normal day to day driving isn't bad, but for some reason pulling up to a gas pump is the biggest challenge I face haha.

In my C6 'vert I can get 2 sets of golf clubs in the trunk with the top down but in my Camaro I just put them in the passenger side front it's easier than wrestling with the trunk opening and taking my driver out of the bag. As for vision, you just get used to the Camaro the only time it bothers me is backing out of my driveway or a parking place which I usually back in to avoid. My dad has a older 2 door Honda accord and it's as hard to get out of as the Camaro or my C6.

I have a 4th gen and a 6th gen. The 4th gen is like driving a fish bowl. Amazing visibility... but the 6th just takes a little getting used to. I don't have any problems seeing in the 6th gen. People who complained the Camaro to the grave were just keyboard warriors and probably never owned one.

I also have a BMW 2 series and an Elantra N, visibility is so much better in both.

Camaro is not nearly as bad as many think though, and it's not bad for a sports car. The issue is it's intended to also be a daily driver and was even sold as rental cars. If you compare Camaro to regular cars, and especially small SUVs with a higher seating position, there is a real difference in visibility and interior useability. So if you want a sports car it's no big deal but compared with other typical daily driver choices, there's a big difference.

Cars have to sell, they cost a fortune to get on the market, truth is there may still be a Camaro if the car's usability wasn't so compromised by it's design simply because they'd appeal to a larger audience. I like the Camaro as a sports car, I like it less as a daily.

I drove a C7 and would say the visibility was about the same as the Camaro. The C7 might have been a little better out the front due to the lower slung hood.

I've never drove a C8, but sat in a few. Rear visibility is the worst I've experienced (if one doesn't consider the rear camera mirror).

I think the Camaro visibility is poor. It took a while for me to get used to, but I've always drove fish bowl cars. (I wish I had the rear camera mirror.) I'm mostly used to it now and learned to adjust my mirrors accordingly and trust them. That said, it's scary when making a left turn at an angled junction, so much so that I just avoid them; would rather make a right turn and then make a u turn. Forget about making a left turn and then stopping in the middle of the road - between medians - to look for oncoming traffic (can't see ****); mine as well use the same tactic as my previous sentence.

This right here is a massive problem and those that have never been in this situation won’t understand that you are literally driving blind as you truly can’t see **** to your right. It’s not a mirror adjustment thing. It’s just downright dangerous.

That being said I read to do this when you are approaching that type of intersection and trying to make a left turn. If possible as you’re coming to a stop turn your car to the right so that it’s perpendicular to the road in front of you. The more to the right you turn before stoping the better you will see to your right. I have tried it once and it seemed to work well (wasn’t as bad of an angled left turn as usual). But yeah I just avoid those intersections if I know they are coming up or I turn right and make a u-turn.

How could I have forgotten the golf club Boogeyman. My bad. Will a golf bag fit in the front passenger seat or not? How big is the golfing community? Whatever.

You and I aren't going to agree on the fatal blow for the Camaro. The truth is probably somewhere in between it being a too focused design or GM deciding to give up on it. The two issues may have just created a self fulfilling death spiral.

It is painfully difficult to get my clubs in the car but I still love mine and I am glad to own a Camaro after wanting one since before I was a teenager. Gen6 Camaros are like most things in life, you have to take the good with the bad. In other words, is it a deal breaker? Otherwise deal with it.

True, it's a challenging situation (the only one with this car).

The Camaro is not for everyone. It's a first class sports car that can be dailied with some caveats, and not a daily driver that can be driven "sportily" with some caveats. It's unfortunate that there are no longer enough people to sustain such a surprisingly excellent sports car, an insane value for the money. As I said, other sports cars like the Corvette or higher end ones get a pass for the driver not being able to see **** out back or often even sideways, the Camaro wasn't so lucky, it got hit and eventually partially destroyed by the meme.

I can't believe some people are seriously trying to suggest the Camaro doesn't have bad visibility. Just because you can get used to it doesn't change that, and just because other cars also have bad visibility doesn't magically improve the Camaro's. I'd have to question whether or not someone has a functioning brain and eyes capable of safely operating a car if they were to drive a Camaro back to back with something like a 911 or BMW 2 Series and suggest they have the same visibility.
