6'3" and I am cramped in C7. C6 Corvette has more room.
Currently have 2019 Camaro SS 1LE, the Camaro definitely has more room. I think of Corvette as Sports car, Camaro more of a Muscle car. |

OP hasn't yet returned, but we're having fun
The Vette car show meme was classic, heh.GM always allocated much more money to the Corvette, no wonder our red-headed stepchildren have a hard time competing with it. I just don't fancy their look, at least the C7 was unique, while the C8 is now a complete Ferrari ripoff with a Euro DOHC engine in its non-base models. This doesn't make it bad, only a copycat, although it's indeed a lot cheaper than the original.

"The Vette car show meme was classic, heh."
Too funny .Back in 2019, I was trying to decide what to replace my recently sold 2002 C5 Z06 with. I loved the looks, handling and performance of the widebody C7 Grand Sport and it was on the top of my list. Followed closely by the Gen 6 Camaro ZL1. At that time, both were around the same price point. I sat in a Grand Sport at the dealer for over an hour and it just didn't feel it fit me right. I'm 6'2" with a slim build. The problem for me was that the top of the windshield line was too low and distracted my forward view. I found it very annoying and something I knew that I couldn't ever get used to. I played with the seat adjusters and couldn't get past the front view line. As much as I wanted it to work, no matter what I did with the seat position, it just didn't fix the issue I had. Then, I checked out ZL1's. Being a hard core manual trans guy forever, I wanted an M6. That is, until I test drove a ZL1 with an A10. I was immediately sold on that "AMAZING" 10 speed automatic and haven't looked back. What a car! This is coming from a 67 year old Corvette-manual trans guy. C7 Grand Sports are great cars if you feel you can fit in them. The looks and handling are outstanding. (I like the looks of a C7 over a C8) If you're O.K. with the fit and ergonomics, I say go for the Grand Sport. (just watch out for those old guys at Corvette shows ![]() )One thing to keep in mind, C7 widebodies (Grand Sports and Z06s) have known issues with factory equipped wheels cracking. Check out the Corvette forum C7 section. I would budget for an aftermarket forged set if you decide to go that route. Forged wheels can be fairly expensive. Also, stay away from cars with the 3LT trim package. That package comes with a leather wrapped dash and has been known to delaminate and bubble. (expensive to fix) Good luck with your choice. Enjoy! I forgot about the seat! It's a surprisingly tight bucket for the usual demographic, i.e., old Americans. I'm 6'1", 180 lbs., and the seat was tight, almost too tight, but then again, I'm getting old. (A younger me would have loved it.) I also would have preferred that the seat could go back a little further.

I would trade in a beat heart if you can get lucky and get a good A8 Trans. Miss my C7 that got flooded in the cane. I had to lemon law a new 2019 C7 with shudder and a bad rear end freind. But my 2015 Z51 was perfect. Grand sport should be even better. Ya can kinda see the water line. If i only parked it across US19 i would still have it.

This is what I can say comparing my 5th gen Camaro ZL1, C7 Corvette 3LT Stingray Z51 and my 6th gen Camaro SS2.
When the 6th gen Camaro came out I parked my 5th gen red ZL1 side to side with one and did not felt in any way tempted to trade it because of the looks my '14 ZL1 looked more aggressive and had much better rear seat space that I needed because of my growing up kids. But later on the temptation got me when I tried a C7 Corvette, the batmobile exterior, the jetfighter cabin and the low driving position sensation was to kill for, the speed sensation of the lighter weight 460 HP Corvette felt as strong as my heavier 580 HP SC ZL1, I traded my 5th gen ZL1 for a red with red leather interior 3LT Z51 with the AT, it was a dream come thru especially while removing the roof and because of its great handling performance. My enjoyment was short-lived because the dam car expended most of the time at the shop with reliability issues, twice towed and it overheated the rear differential of the 6AT at my local track even after just a few laps, feeling ridiculized by other 4 cylinders that kept tracking while my car had to cool down because of it lack of cooling design of the AT. Never had to pay for repairs because they were under warranty. I went back to a 6th gen Camaro SS2 6MT, the driving experience was very close to my C7 Z51, except of the transitional fast change of lanes at high speed or while taking a fast curve, the 6th gen Camaro felt heavier at the back, but it has a 9/10 from the Stingray C7 driving experience feeling. I still fell repented of letting go of my 5th gen '14 ZL1 Muscle car looking Camaro and miss the whining sound of the SC. ZL1s are very rare to see them in the street while I see C7, C8 Corvettes, 5th & 6th gen Camaros SS everywhere. And the resale value of the 5th & 6th gen ZL1s is kept very high. The 6th gen Camaro SS & SS1LE with its Alpha chassis is a great BMW M fighter, a great sport car. The C7 Grand Sport its a beautiful oustanding performing machine, it would perform just a tad better at the track compared to the oustanding handling 6th gen Camaro SS1LE. But the reliability of both of my Camaros 5th and 6th gen was much better compared to my C7 Corvette. You decide.

Also to consider, if you use your sport car for only spirited street driving compared to track usage. The consumables (tires, brakes, etc) will have less cost to replace them on the Camaro SS compared to the ones on a Z51 or GS Corvettes or the SS1LE Camaro.
