Trade in 2021 1SS for 2019 C7 Grandsport?
Hi guys, I've had my 2021 SS for a year now and its my first ever v8. I am debating whether to continue with my SS or trade it in for a 2019 c7 Grandsport or continue with it and do modifications to it instead (SS is completely in stock). I'm just stuck with the idea of wanting a corvette and I do love my SS, it would be hard to see it go. Thought yall would have great advice, thank you!

I would do it. The c7 grand sport is a huge upgrade HANDLING WISE if you care about that. It’s only a slight upgrade in a straight line due to being lighter but still making the same power. The c7 grand sport is the one c7 I really like however I take my car to the roadcourse so that’s why it’s a good car to me.

Others may be able to dive in a little deeper than me, but personally I don't see enough difference between these cars to justify the jump. Again, this is totally personal but I tend to hold onto things and only make a move when there's been significant advances/changes. For example, jumping from a 6th gen Camaro to a C8 Corvette. If you're seriously considering this swap, I think it really boils down to styling of the two models - do you like the looks of the Corvette so much that you want to jump. Again, others may be able to highlight more than me, but I don't see enough performance difference. I think there are a few other considerations like do you need the small back seat of the Camaro vs the 2 seater Corvette?

I test drove a '19 gs Vette before my Camaro. That Vette is the best handling car I've ever driven. It also seemed to manage the LT1's power better. I think they look better, too.
Ultimately, I didn't want to spend that much, as the Vette was over 50% more $ (not saying they're not worth it). Plus, I'm tall, and the vette's cabin was more claustrophobic. I fit, but I sat in a Camaro right after driving the Vette, and I personally felt more comfortable in the Camaro. |

Go with your gut and what you enjoy driving more. I still want a GT350, and I just built my SS. Not even done with tuning yet.

They feel much sharper, but if you haven't experienced one yet see how you like the driving position. They're a better sports car and even fine for road trips, but I wouldn't want one as a daily. Surprisingly, I think the tremec in the Camaro feels better if you're going with a manual.

If you are over 6ft tall the C7s interior is cramped. Also if you are also wider person, same thing. The interior is very cramped.

The C7 Grandsport is better than a Camaro SS in every way when it comes to performance. It will be a little less comfy and the sound system, while largely the same, won't be quite as good but that is due to the cockpit and not the parts. Tires will cost more as will most maintenance items.
I've owned multiple Camaro's and Corvette's. I've always liked the Corvette's driving experience better. But I like the Camaro's comfort level more. So its a trade off.
