Alrighty, i've been following this thread for a while.it seems to be a fairly straight forward and simple fix once you have the part. I took mine into the dealer last September for this issue along with the service bulletin i found here on second or third page of this thread. They told that it was a difficult repair and had to take supercharger off and tear into the engine
. So Im living with the tick. Did I get the wrong info or am I just being snowed. if someone could provide me with a part number and basic procedure Ill regroup and approach them again to get it fixed. It is annoying. thanks for any help. ![]() Kuutr |

Have your dealer call the GM tech line for instructions (mine ended up doing that). |

Some info for the DIYers, Im about to try this myself. Some basic info on fuel lines and quick disconnects:
https://sautomotivetools.com/what-is...sconnect-tool/ Tools: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...22M0WN8BD&th=1 Parts: When looking parts the part itself is rather economical in the $60 range but shipping is clown world level so watch out... |

So I was able to find the part on Amazon for roughly $71 including shipping. Took about 3 weeks for delivery. Amazon was the only place not charging an outrageous amount for delivery, every other website was asking $200+ for shipping some even $400. Installed the part and the car feels brand new again. Good riddance, I hope the tick never comes back again. The tick never affected performance as my car seems to be running the same with the new line minus the annoying tick noise. Original service bulletin states all you need to do is drop the exhaust for the install, no need to remove the blower. However since my car is modified I was able to get away with just unbolting and pushing the passenger side header to the side. My car has 2 inch headers for reference. Overall the job took about 2 hours from beginning to start and it was easy and straight forward. If you are able to find the part for a good deal and don’t get charged an outrageous amount for shipping and your car is modified/out of warranty I definitely recommend swapping the part on your own.

Nice update THANKS! at one time I had found the same thing, Amazon had it, then it was OOS and anywhere else wnated 2-3X the cost of the part for shipping so I just stopped thinking about it. My tick is admittedly very minor compared to some others.

Yup I have been searching for the part for months now. Suddenly saw it in stock on Amazon with free shipping and I just had to buy it. It seems it is OOS again. The tick on my car was extremely loud and irritating at idle. Specially when stopped in traffic with other cars around me and the tick would be amplified as the noise would bounce off the cars near me. Truly night and day difference.

Took me about 2 hours to do it at my friends shop. With the car up on the lift it was a breeze. I would say maybe $2-300 for labor, at least near me it’s about $100 per hour rate, plus $65 for the part if you can find it with free shipping. I would not recommend doing this on jacks stands in your driveway probably doable but a very big pain.

My car does this only this time of year when it gets cold, and sits for more than a few days. It ticks for a couple minutes, then goes away, and all is fine it seems.
I'll be doing this myself soon. Thanks for all the helpful information!

I just ordered on from this place of ebay for $10 and free shipping. They had kinda long shipping, well the said it would be like 2-3 weeks. It ended up being like 3 days. Mine is not ticking, but I think my check valve in the fuel line is bad. On cold starts, it cranks for about 10 second with 0psi fuel pressure, before it turns on the low pressure pump.
