Roto fab intake problem?

I installed a roto fab CAI, and I noticed u can’t
Close hood if you have the rain diverter still mounted
Under hood?! Has anyone had same issue? Because
Without the diverter, and if driving in rain, water
Will enter the engine compartment.

I usually run my car without the rain diverter. If it rains and you're driving, it's not going to matter, the airflow won't allow the rain to get in there. It's when it's parked and rained on, then water supposedly will get onto some electrical connections and "could" cause issues. If you don't park it outside or drive it in the rain often, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Bend the tabs on the rotofab slightly so that the airbox sits lower(where the rubber grommets are) Also, if you don't rotate the intake elbow properly it will also hit the rain diverter.

Otherwise it should not hit the hood or rain diverter.

I've had Roto-Fab on 4 ZL1's and never had this issue.

Is yours the big gulp?

No issues with mine either the 4 years it’s been installed. Maybe go back and loosen the clamps and try adjusting the intake tube and air box. Good luck!

Removed my diverter two years ago. I don't drive in the rain, but I spray wash it and never seen any water on the engine. It has a modified BIg Gulp.

Well, all seems to be in place, airbox is about “tucked”
As can be, tabs , even if bent , will not make the airbox
Any deeper, it’s the elbow that seems to be causing this
Issue, and I can’t see how I can move elbow any differently
To give me clearance for the diverter,I would only use
Diverter on a trip, if I got caught in a rainstorm.

Same here, mine fit good with hood closed with only about an 1/16" increased gap on the drivers side where the hood closes along the fender. When Katech did my build and added THPSI Port Injection. This caused the blower to sit slight higher. So they simply notched my rain diverter slightly to allow for the RotoFab Big Gulp intake tube. Now it closes perfectly!

Not sure they are all made to exactly perfect the same. I had a RotoFab BG before my current one that didn't even interfere with the hood closing at all. But I swapped it out because I scratched it where the RFBP logo was and I thought it was an eye soar. So I bought a new one and this one was slightly taller and cased the 1/16" gap. But the hood still closes fine.

Not sure if it's in the area you are referring but when I installed mine 7 yrs ago they supplied a button head bolt to replace the hex head bolt in this location because of a clearance issue. Pic is from install instructions

Yeah, I've never had the Big Gulp which is why I asked, but the OP never answered...

Yes I was thinking the same thing ZED SLED. I replaced the bolt with the one in the box also.
