I'll add that if it's being forced by downshifting (which I rarely ever do), it seems more short bursted and one sided, versus if it's happening more naturally, for a longer duration, I hear it more evenly across both exhausts.

Crackles and Pops almost stop with age and the sound becomes old school.
I have dual mode on my 17' SS. All stock with over 72k miles. The annoying crackles and pops are no longer an issue. My suggestion just drive it and let miles rack up. I have videos of it new and sound a shitload better now than new.
