And I guess now I'm good a paint care because to me it's a non issue? I also don't think black cars look particularly bad when dirty. They just look dirty, like all the other dirty cars. That said, I do wash my cars close to once a week, at least once a month and paint correction when needed. So maybe my "normal" is just not normal
White and gray are much more forgiving and slower to show dirt and defects, partly because clearcoat defects result in grayish white chips or streaks; black paint will immediately start looking bad from the smallest amount of dust.

Of course, if you have the energy and time to clean and polish at that frequency, it can be managed, although one can only do so much paint correction on ~5 mils of clearcoat that the Camaro has.

You are buying USED. Always go for the newest, lowest mileage car possible. You are ordering or dealer locating a new car. Used cars are color blind with rare exceptions.

I love the black on this car, but like others, I sometimes regret it because it gets dirty really quick. Then I see it in pictures and have no regrets.

As soon as I got my 24, I spent a lot of time cleaning the surface, did a light polish and then covered it with a self applied ceramic coating. Every other wash I go over it with a ceramic detailer spray, and it's really holding up nicely. Hopefully I can get away with doing that fresh every couple of years with no issues.

All that said, I am lucky to have a garage, and it's not a daily driver. If either of those factors disappeared, I'd be wishing I'd gotten gray or silver.

EOTD, these cars are all awesome, no matter what color. Enjoy whatever you decide!

Honestly, ignore my comments and listen to this guy. Lower miles and better overall condition far outweigh a car's color when buying used.

Get the color you like the most is my suggestion because you will be making the payments, not us! Good luck.

Black is beautiful. It's just more maintenance to keep it that way.

Go with Blacks 1st cousin, Grey! In the end it all boils down to YOUR preference. This car is AMAZING, regardless.

You didn’t specify the gray. If it’s shadow gray I think it’s a top 5 6th Gen color so I’d go with that (as I did for my 23 as it is my favorite color for model year 23). Ultimately though you should make the decision not us.

I think black looks great. I believe others have covered the upkeep issues. For me, it depends partly on what part of the country you live in. In central Texas, I wouldn't have a black car, especially since they all seem to come with the black interior. Way too hot. Even with tint and a windshield screen, they are painfully hot when they have been parked outside for a while. That's why I ordered my car with Ash Grey interior. I also wanted silver paint. The default when you go through the build your own online defaults to black interior and I think most dealers just don't bother to change it.
I'm also too lazy (old) to maintain black.
The bottom line is get what makes you happy. They're all Camaro's, after all.

If you want to blend in with traffic, go with gray/silver/white/maroon/blue

If you want to look like Batman, go with black

If you want to get pulled over, go with red hot

IMO not all cars look great in black, however, Camaro's aren't one of them !

black is great if you can garage it, because the sun fades a black car quicker than others

Call me crazy, but I find that white is a great color for cars with sharp, crisp lines like the 5th and 6th gen Camaro. Pain in the balls to keep clean, but just damn. This is coming from a guy that had a IBM 5th gen and now has a RBM 6th gen. Just saying.

You are not wrong! The staff at the store want to make me a parking stall that says "Bat Mobile Parking"....

Black I guess is kind of a bitch especially if you park in the direct sun a lot.
I'm kind of a shade ninja since I hate the thought of my car baking in the sun, so I don't really find the inevitable swirls too terrible. I don't feel the need to constantly maintain a pristine finish, more so a once in a while maintenance. Ceramic coatings/wax helps with that schedule.
Any color Camaro will get dirty in the same amount of time, even if you don't notice it as badly I'd still know my car was dirty and want it washed.

I do think this car looks especially great in black. When building my order, I kept coming back to that color after much deliberation, knowing the potential downsides. I've had the car a year now and still no regrets. Every time I see my "Bat Mobile" I still smile.
