I just recently got IGLA installed and it is awesome! I still retain all the functionality I want with the car remote start via either Fob or app, yet know it's protected.
The car isn't being stolen unless you enter the right pin. They can relay attack, or program a new key(actually might not even possible), or hell I could give them my keys without that's pin they aren't driving away. Plus if entering the pin is too there are some more options for authorization to drive like a separate fob, or app on your phone. Obviously these will lower your security posture to some degree depending on how you use them. Ie if you keep the IGLA fob with your regular fob and your keys are stolen, then obviously you won't have protection. Plus there are additional options that can be added to the base to prevent carjacking. As for interfering original harness isn't cut, the IGLA just is spliced in. So if for some reason it fails, it fails open allowing normal operation. Also it is fairly easily to place it in a service mode, or even disable it entirely if you need to for any reason. |

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B097GLMDM3...roduct_details a dummy OBD pigtail, a reset button, and a piezo siren. If we get it working correctly, it will sound an alarm and lock out the PTS button. It will still allow remote starting. The siren and the PTS button lockout will be on independent timers. If someone plugs into the dummy OBD, the siren will screech and the PTS will be locked out until the timers run out or the button resets them both. The entire solution will be under the dash. More to follow, I can draw up a decent schematic with some pictures, if there's any interest. Total cost is under $100 in parts, all bought on Amazon. I'll try to include a List of Materials. We worked on this for a while yesterday, first going after the starter relay and eventually deciding it was easier and just as effective to go after the PTS button. If someone were to rip out everything from the under the dash, the car would not start. There should be no parasitic draw unless an OBD device is plugged into the dummy port, which activates the timer relay boards. The dummy port will look "live" and the only factory wire that gets severed will be in the PTS button module, everything else can be done using posi-taps. Pressing the reset button will disable/disarm both timers if they are activated. The physical profile should be small enough to easily stuff under the dash, mainly just the two timers and the small siren, with a some small gauge wires. Not sure how accurate this is, but was reading about a theft on Reddit and they mentioned the Autel tool thieves are using to generate a new key don't need a physical connection to the OBD port. Hope that isn't the case, because I was planning on getting an OBD lock to go with the mobilistics starter relay.

Haven't ordered one yet, as my Camaro is sleeping for the winter here in the Northeast. However, I was planning on going with the relay and fob they sell rather than something hardwired. Since mine is M6 I don't have to worry about remote start. |

Kill switch man, something plain and simple. I’ve had one in most cars I’ve had since the mid 80’s, inclusive of my Camaro. I know it’s prevented one of my cars from being stolen.

Can the CAN bus or ECM be accessed wirelessly? Because that's what some of the most recent comments about thefts have been implying. I didn't think that's possible... |

This seems like a good option but you’re cutting wires which is even more intrusive than the igla system isn’t it?

https://www.iglausa.com/igla-anti-theft Your installer will load the right firmware and setup. Here is a nice video that shows some of the basic operation on a camaro. Also here is what it looks like if you get the anti-carjacking option and someone were to steal your car |
