Wheel Fitment - Camber Plates

Hey fellas....I'm dropping down to 19" apex wheels on my regular zl1....11" fronts and 12" rears....for those that have done this did you have to get the camber plates to eliminate the front wheel poke or not? I'm not trying to not get them just want to have all the parts I need when I make the switch....thanks in advance....

Mine still had some poke at -1.75, so they would need to be rolled in pretty good to flush them.

-1.75 was your ET? The ones I ordered have a 9 ET.....that should be farther in correct?

The fronts won’t stick out any more than a stock ZLE which IMO looks pretty good. I would avoid camber plates if you can, they remove the rubber isolator at the top of the strut and replace it with a spherical bearing and it will affect the ride on the street. If you are tracking the car you probably want them. I had the Vorshlag plates and they worked well.

Amount of poke is dependent on your camber # and the wheel offset.

You may not be able to get all the camber you want because you need to have adequate wheel/tire to strut clearance.

I have Vorshlag camber plates on my car and didn't have any change in ride quality or NVH.

You will probably have to trim the strut body like you do if you put OEM 1LE wheels on a regular ZL1. The inner barrel/lip of the wheel will contact (or be extremely close to) the strut body right above the strut bolts. Camber plates won't be a requirement though.

Not with APEX wheels. The strut shaving was recommended for me too back when I did it. If you get the right offset you do NOT need to shave the strut. It doesn’t contact. Buy the wrong ET and the wheel won’t even fit
