Good catch! I like hearing great out comes like this. Enjoy that wonderful V8 sound and manual transmission.

The next time you get a load of BS like that from a dealer, have him run a substantial deposit on your credit card and lock the amount. When he says the sales department doesn’t take credit cards, tell him to run the transaction through his parts or service department. I understand that some dealers are tired of people who make “deals” over the phone and never make good on them, but I’m really tired of dealers working so hard to not do business with sincere customers. When I bought my ‘23 2SS in July, I found the car on the Camaro Inventory, emailed the dealer, made the deal over the phone and picked up the car the next day.

Don't follow this advice if you're serious about a car. You'll just piss the dealer off. If the dealer doesn't take deposits to hold cars, just get there as fast as you can. They won't care if you're trying to the above because they will just sell the car to someone else. This is not a vehicle that every dealer has tons of and most dealers know it.

I had no idea that Riptide Blue Metallic was only for this year. I love the VOM but everyone has said to me that RBM is awesome.

I know I was lucky. I couldn't sleep until after I drove the car home. I was always expecting the dealer to call or text that the car was sold.

Ended up with a color that I didn't know I would love!

I suspect the reason they no longer give out event codes is people started getting pissed at being stuck at 1100 forever and the bullshit line of "Your vehicle order has been accepted by General Motors and is moving toward the production process." makes the buyer feel like the ball is rolling, If you have an allocation, you'd be past 1100

Ask tour dealer on Saturday for your event code, then post what it is. Best of luck!

So I checked with the dealer the event code is 3400 the car will be built 10/23/2023. But the status on Chevy's website has not changed. I know the dealer info is more up to date but not sure why the website couldn't tell me the same thing.

That is awesome. Chevy chat, in my experience on many orders, has been slightly informative but mostly monkey wrench. Glad to hear your dealer gave you the correct status!

The Chevy chat seems to just say accepted by GM and moving towards production from when you hit status 2000 to when it's built. At that point you get a different message. I've been checking periodically since I got an allocation on 10/3. Called the dealer today. Status code 3100 with a TPW of 10/30.

I understand you’re a dealer and have your own rules to follow, but sometimes you have to think outside the box in a very competitive environment. This has worked for me at least a dozen times, always at (or mostly under) MSRP. The right dealer, like you, knows when a buyer is for real.
